I was a new relationship with a woman and it started off well. Over the weekend I learned that she liked the Olympics, and her favorite part was the profiles they commonly show before that person competes.

That was a short relationship.

Last night in men's short track they kept handing out penalties until China ended up with gold and silver. There's a reason the host country usually has a spike in medals.

I watched some rugby and basketball.

Judo sucks.

I’m exhausted just watching this women’s triathlon. The Taiwan/China Doubles Badminton match ain’t bad though.

Pretty exciting finish to the Men’s triathlon. The Limey made up about 15 seconds on the New Zealander with about 3 minutes to go. All 30 or so of them were within 2 seconds of each other after the swimming and biking portions. The running portion really separated them.

Equestrian - I can’t. Those getups the riders wear are so ridiculous. I mean that as no offense.

Fencing now. This is crazy. They just wildly swing their swords at each other for 2 seconds and then go back. They go to instant replay a lot too. I have no idea how this is judged. They complain a lot, mostly the French team.

I watched some skateboarding. I can do cooler moves on Tony Hawk Pro Skater.

Snoop as the USA mascot is pretty wild.

I watched some street skateboarding the other night and it was boring as hell. I they envision this as the snowboarding of the summer games and it just doesn't cut it. I say that I found that boring and I actually enjoy watching surfing. It's 30 minute rounds for about 60 seconds or so of actual surfing. I watched a matchup the other night that went on for 15 minutes before anyone was up on a board.

And I like Snoop, but that is some shameless cross promotion of the highest order. They are cramming him into coverage in the hopes that a few people under the age of 60 will tune into The Voice in a few weeks. I'm not complaining. A lot of what he's done is pretty entertaining.

Archery isn’t terrible. The male US archer (Ellison) looks like he could hunt live animals with his bow and arrow. I do think the sport could benefit by adding some obstacles or moving targets.

USA vs Morocco men’s soccer. I need someone to tell me if that was a legit penalty. It pretty much gave Morocco their only goal and it seemed 50/50 to me. I know bad officiating can affect any sport, but in a sport when it’s so hard to score, giving a team a free goal on an iffy call can really fuck things up. Maybe bring in a smaller goal to score on these types of situations. I’m just workshopping ideas here.

Women’s boxing match between Ireland and Bulgaria. This is painful to watch. That Algerian XY chick would destroy both of these.

So much for the soccer opinions. Morocco was better. I’ll stay in my lane. Trampoline is on now.

4 years ago they delayed the Olympics for an entire year due to Covid, and when they finally had them there were huge restrictions. Now if an athlete has covid they just keep on going until they have to be carted off in a wheelchair. Humans are weird.
