First round with Utah was fun, this one not so much. Phoenix is a scoring machine and our defense is lacking. I just hope we don't get swept.

Man, Boston came out hot last night, but OKC also came out hot in game 1 of their series. Mavs winning game 1's are rare.

And I don't care what anyone says, those 2 quick travel calls were VERY sus. Then the 2 quick calls on Lively (first one okay, 50/50, but the second was bullshit) right after seemed like a deliberate attempt to kill the Mavs momentum, and it worked. Not saying the refs cost the Mavs the game, but they sure killed any chance of the Mavs getting back in it. Perhaps if it was Brad Davis night instead of Bill Walton night the calls would have been different

Hopefully Sunday the game won't get out of hand so quickly. Mavs in 5.

Luka looks like Dumbledore after Snape got through with him. If they don't figure out how to get everyone else involved he may not make it through the series. Porzingis possibly out may help a little, but Boston was winning without him. They have to figure out how to get their lob game functional. Kyrie has to show up tonight or this team's done.

That was a rough series to watch as a Mavs fan. i knew Boston could run the score up with everyone raining 3's but I thought between our 3 shooting and lob game we could keep up. I didn't expect Kyrie to shit his pants the whole fucking series. I know part of it was tough defense - Brown was able to guard Luka effectively one-on-one so Kyrie and the other guys stayed coved, but that doesn't explain the MANY wide open misses. And I don't know if anyone ever broke down why Mavs couldn't get the lob game going. They only really started that after the mid-season trades, so maybe the guys just need more time together to beat as high a caliber team like Boston. Then again, maybe there was just no stopping Boston this year.

If Mavs can drop some dead weight and pick up some better support players then they stand a good chance to go deep in the playoffs again next year. And if they get to the finals against any team other than Boston (so Kyrie could actually be effective), then ya never know!

Nico has his work cut out for him. Mavs are up against the apron so they have nothing to offer except minimums. They’d have to give someone assets so they’ll take THJ to get some breathing room and be able to offer the non taxpayer exception just to keep DJJ. Maybe they can hit on a couple of minimums again like DJJ and Exum. Or they can move Kyrie?

I’m less worried about this being bungled now that Cuban has been removed from operational input.
