Doesn't take much for a celebration in Oakland these days.

It's great that record breaking play made a decisive impact on such an important game for both of those AFC powerhouses.

Colts fans criticism of General Manager caused his radio show to be cut 15 minutes in.

His show was supposed to be an hour long. Sounds like someone needs to get a better call screener.

I was wondering how the Colts fan was reacting to this. You can make valid points on both sides of that argument but bottom line is they threw away a chance at history. Why the hell wouldn't you want to go for that?

It was funny too seeing Dungy getting taken to task by Dan Patrick on this. Dungy was saying he used to do the same thing, and Patrick called him on it, saying he NEVER pulled his starters in that situation. I'm starting to not like Dungy more and more.

I understand the frustration of the fans. If I paid that kind of money for a ticket, I would want to see them try to win the fucking game. I know that may seem shortsighted, but most fans are not making the kind of scratch that the owners are.

But I recall Dungy resting his starters when they had the #1 seed locked up a few years back. Maybe they had already lost a game, though.

He pulled his starters, but not when they were 14-0 and up 15-0 in the third quarter of the 15th game. That's the point Patrick was making. Like I said, both sides have valid arguments. If I'm a player though, ESP the qb, I think I get pissed if the coach throws away my chance at making history.

I don't see both sides. Caldwell and team management are idiots. The ownership should have told him to win the goddamn game.

The Colts were being generous and gave their fans an extra preseason game. Why are they complaining?

Last year Manning played a little in the last game. Sorgi played most of the game and Colts lost in the first round the next week.

In 07 Manning and Sorgi split time and then the Colts lost in the Divisional game. They had a bye for the first round.

In 06 Manning took all the snaps towards the end of the year and they won the motherfucking super bowl.

In 05 Sorgi played almost all the final game and half of the 2nd to last game and the Colts lost their first playoff game in the Divisional round.

In 04 Sorgi played most of the final game and the Colts actually won the wild card game but then lost the next week.

In 03 Manning took all the snaps down the stretch and the Colts made it all way to the conference championship game losing to the pats who then won the super bowl.

Judging by these results you would have to be a complete moron not to play out the stretch. Jim Caldwell is an even more stupid version of Barry Switzer.

I think that's what Dan P. threw in Dungy's face. Made him look pretty stupider. fwiw, I agree to play 100% unless you have to nurse injuries. It doesn't seem natural for a competitor at that level to try, then don't try, then try, then don't try... it's all or nothing all the time.

if I recall correctly, don't they almost always look rusty in their first playoff game because they hadn't played in 3 or so games?

Stupid strategy.

Are the Eagles doing this on purpose? They've dropped something like 26 passes. The shot of Maclin making sure he isn't going to get hit and not looking for the ball has to drive Eagles fans crazy.
