You're right, that wasn't well thought out. How's this:

He was in the Kinks but his last name wasn't Davies.

OUT.

Lynyrd Skynyrd Backup Singer Jo Jo Billingsley Dies

She was the Honkette who wasn't on the plane. Turns out she became a born-again and started singing gospel music.

Former Texas Governor Goes to Ranch in the Sky

KZEW used to play drops of the fake Dolph Briscoe urging listeners to "Drive Friendly." I wonder if Rhyner remembers this.

In all seriousness, he was the last of a long string of Democratic governors. Mark White beat Briscoe in the primary, then Bill Clements beat White.

In my book, he's in, but I bet the Head Line doesn't vote him in.

Hoob.

Rhynes is the only one up there that knows this guy. The first gub I remember is Clements and I'm the same age as Danny.

from Wiki:
Mark Wells White (born March 17, 1940) is an American lawyer, who served as the 43rd Governor of Texas from 1983-1987.

Yep. He beat Clements in the next election.

Kinda off the subject, but when Clements' wiki page says that when Clements beat him for his second term, White lost partly because of No Pass, No Play. I don't remember him being blamed for that.

Hoob.

"Bob lost the fight of his life this afternoon," said Probert's father-in-law, Dan Parkinson, a police officer who performed CPR before Probert was rushed to Ontario's Windsor Regional Medical Center.

Fight of his life? He dropped dead. It's not like he was fighting cancer the past two years. Out.
