Saturday morning I'll be signing a lease on a rent house. Not too big, a little older, but it's got a big treeless backyard perfect for star gazing from. My telescope and I will be very happy there.

Unfortunately my telescope only allows me to view things that actually exist. The Orion Nebula could easily be confused with heaven, though.

It's a Celestron NexStar 8SE. It currently sits on an ALT-AZ Goto mount but in the future I want to upgrade to an equatorial mount so I can do some DSO photography.

We spent some time time packing last night. Gammita is a little uneasy about the move but we're going to cart her across town everyday to her current school so it won't be such a shock. Hopefully the new neighborhood has some kids her age that she can get to know before next school year.

I actually cleaned up my credit report well enough to qualify for a decent apr. My lender tried several ways to get around the school loan thing but rules is rules. I'm actually a little relieved as I had put quite a bit of pressure on myself to make this happen NOW. The DQ will give me a year to gather my wits and improve my CS even more. I'm seeing this "setback" as a blessing.

:D I only do that with student loans and medical bills.

I bought it used from a couple of gay dudes in Duncan, OK. I got a pretty good deal on it. Celestron has since knocked off $200 from the new models.

Moving is a pain in the dick. We're mostly done, just a few odds and ends left to cart over. Mostly Gammita's stuff and kitchen stuff. We'll have a lot of work to do over the next couple of weeks, getting everything unpacked/built/laid out to our liking.

At the end of the day yesterday we had a couple of the wifey's bothers show up with some nieces and nephews. It was good to hear family noised in the new house. We're going to have a lot of fun this year with backyard camp outs, star parties, etc. I feel good. 9 years is too long to go without living in a house.

:D Last night as I stared at the mostly empty garage I did indeed imagine a pool table right in the middle. Maybe when we get settled in we'll have a star party and y'all can come over and check out some cool globular clusters.

Spent the better part of Sunday afternoon raking leaves. I've nicknamed my sprained elbow Josh Greinke cause it's on far right now. I will be buying a leaf blower this weekend. Fuck a bunch of raking.

Bought a nice little lawn mower at the Sears Outlet store on Beach Street and 820. It's a 3 in 1 with a 190cc B&S engine and (VERY important with my sprained elbows) self-propelled. It was a showroom model, never even fired up. Got it for $180. They also had the same mower sans self-propulsion for $140. My wife bitched for 10 minutes about spending the extra $40 until I asked her who was going to mow the fucking lawn not her me so shut the fuck up already.

I've been entertaining the thought of mowing my own lawn again, but ya know, screw it. The Mexican does a pretty damn fine job of it, and lawn care sucks. I don't mind mowing so much, but I hate doing the edging. If I could hire a Mexican to just do the edging, I would.

Same here. I did it myself until 2011. I won't go back unless something bad financially happens, because of the edging. I suck at edging and now I'm on a corner lot so I have that extra patch over there.

Both too livid with the other to speak, (and aside from Craig's heavy mouth breathing) the Gams waited in the checkout line in stoic silence. Fidgety, craig readied his Discover card and stowed it in the stretchy compression wrap around his elbow as he bent down to pull up his tube socks. As if the gods of love were intervening, the gentle piano intro began to play at a soothing level over the sound system. Jennifer Warnes voice had never sounded more angelic as it did in that moment, standing there in line at the Sears in Haltom City with his sweet baby, as she earnestly sang the lines "who knows what tomorrow brings, in a world few hearts survive." By the time the Love lift us up where we belong chorus struck, the gams were fully embraced. All was forgiven.

That was at Top Golf and those were a gift from my dear sainted crazy madre. I think I retired them a while back, actually.

For the record I wear ankle socks cuz

1: I'm too fat to bend over and pull up my socks
b) I only gotta jack with em 2wice a day
4] Tube socks are itchy
>~ Tube socks look dumb on fat dudes
Cinco: I don't own any tube socks

Last Friday I got a good puppy dog from our local shelter. He's a rat terrier mix ~2 years old. Neutered, chipped and shots all up to date. Little guy is house trained and seems extremely happy to be part of a family again. He's full of energy and really digs us. We dig him, too.

My dad and stepmom had a dog named Cookie. She was a Border Collie. She was a really good dog for the short time they had her. She got out of the house one night and got hit by a Dart Bus.
