I do not mow my own lawn and I don't foresee any circumstances where I would in the future. When we were broke and in the midst of clawing our way out of debt, I swore to baby Jeebus that I would never mow my lawn again once our financial situation improved.

I do not mow my lawn, but I do the trim and edging. My able-bodied son chooses to mow the lawn because he wants money for things. I wish I had a choice in the matter at his age. Next year he'll turn 16 and probably get a job flipping burgers or sacking groceries and his mowing days will be over, and I'll get a lawn service set up and hang up the ol' weed whacker. Won't miss it a bit.

I mow mine for the "exercise". Just the mowing takes about 10 minutes so no biggie.

I've been kicking it at the crib all morning waiting for the AC dude to show up. Our air conditioner crapped out this weekend. Luckily it was pretty mild and the upstairs unit is still good.

Stay away from Goodman, which is what we have and I understand is a builder grade model you probably don't want. This unit is only probably 3 or 4 years old to boot and has put me in a mood, I tell ya.

My old 2006 CR-V wouldn't start and the symptoms were the dead battery thing. Replaced the battery and it kinda helped, but it would happen again. It got worse in damp weather. Put a meter on it and the alternator was working normally. Finally, I gave up and the poor thing sat in the driveway for 6 months. It has 280,000 miles on it, is all beat up, and it's perfect for work.

About a month ago I decided to do some research and realized the problem was the starter. Ordered a new one, looked on youporn, uh, youtube and saw that I had to take the damned intake manifold off to get to it. What a pain in the ass that was.

But it works now, and I've happily driven it to work every day for the past two weeks.

Thank goodness this old vehicle can't tell all the stories of all the seedy stuff that has happened in it.

My 2002 Dodge Ram is still going strong. Just had the heater core replaced, along with the doors that control the airflow for the hvac system. About 6 years ago I installed a backup camera and I had a custom dash faceplate made so I could install a Pioneer radio with a 7" screen. I replaced the radio a couple of years ago with a newer model that has CarPlay. I have nav, bluetooth, spotify, internet radio, etc so it doesn't feel like I'm driving a 15 year old truck. I bought it in 2006 btw.

my 2001 ram is in good shape too. I doesn't get driven very often and probably needs some suspension work judging by the weird tire wear but it's a been a good truck.

I have a 2012 Toyota Tundra and yes, it is a Texas edititon. It has been great but had a couple of emissions something or other parts that went out, prompting the check engine light to come on and impacting the acceleration feature of the driving experience. This was a couple of weeks before Christmas. Set me back $2500. Made me want to go home and take down all the dang decorations that very day. Really sucked. Could've saved a lot of forums with that kind of money.

A few weeks ago, the interior handle on the driver side door of my Studcruiser (nee Altima) broke so I always had to lower the window (yes I have power windows ) and open the door from the outside before getting out. It's real smooth when people see you do it, I tell ya. I suppose I could've Duke boys'd it, but it's been effin' cold lately. I looked up how to fix it online (found a cool site called YouTube.) Didn't look too hard but I suck at all things fixin' cars. Decided to go for it and ordered a replacement part for $15 off the internet. Normally it would be $70 which is what a dealer would prolly charge. It showed up a week later and I got to work one Saturday morning. 20 minutes later I was back in biz. It was real easy too. Just took off the door panel, unhooked a couple pieces, and hooked up the new handle. Reassembly was a snap. Prolly would've cost around $150 for some mechanic, but it only cost me $15 and one segment of weekend morning time. What did I do with my savings? Nothing to save any forums, that's for damn sure.

I recently purchased an EGO 21" cordless electric mower. Boy howdy the low noise level and lack of gas fumes and ease of starting is so nice. Mowed the whole lawn (we fave a fairly large backyard) in about half an hour. It used about 3/4 of the battery to do the whole thing. Takes only about 20 minutes for the battery to get a full charge. I can't report on how well it does on thick grass as I did not encounter any. But it did the job as well as any mower I've had. My brother has the whole set; trimmer, blower, etc, but those things are too expensive for me considering how little I use them. My $70 Black and Decker trimmer is just fine.

How long before you think we'll be mostly off gas altogether?

I would be all for that. I have a gas powered trimmer and blower and they're a royal pain in the ass. I would be fine with an electric trimmer, but the blower is a deal breaker. I have a ton of leaves and the electric blower just doesn't cut it.

When will beans be eliminated?

Strangely we have lots of trees but leaves aren't a big problem.

Getting our a/c replaced tomorrow. The fan started making an awful noise 2 weeks ago and when the repair guy was here to look at that, he noticed a huge electrical problem with the heater. The unit is 30 years old and the repair was going to cost about 10% of a new one. Scheduling and getting the money together pushed the install to around 10 days later, but I decided to move it back 4 more days to avoid taking an extra day off work. That wasn't so bad at the time when it still felt like spring, but the last 3 nights have been brutal. The wife and kid have been out of town, so they were spared, but I'm about at my end. One more night to go.
