I picked up a copy at lunch today. Cannot wait, especially after seeing the xplay preview/review show. So much for being productive tonight/rest of the week.

And btw, Morgan & Kristen Holt looked better than normal last night.

I'm picking up my copy after work.

what the hell did you do this time? nevermind, i really don't care. tell your dad you've learned something and will try to be more like him from now on, then go clean the garage without being asked. run by krogers on the way home and grab a box of chocolates to give to your mother, and let her know that for you, everyday is mother's day. and stop being such a little shit.

Its good. I don't know that it deserves the perfect 10s that its getting everywhere. The vehicles are a little harder to control and taking corners is hard as shit. And the lighting is a little sketchy. Realistic, but sketchy. sometimes you can't see where you're going because of shadows and glare from the fake sun. Other than that... it's pretty goddamned sweet. I'm at 80% liking with my girlfriend right now. I think she got mad when we went to the bar and I drove home drunk though. That = fun. Bowling is kinda lame. Fighting is MUCH improved. But you can do anything past a slow walk without holding down a. And It does start a little bit slow as I think the first 10 missions or so are really a tutorial. So it doesn't just drop you in and you can start reaking havoc.

You can adjust the lighting very well. Had a problem at first with that, too.

When's the first RR Deathmatch?

it'll have to be a fistfight. The cops took my weapons and I can't find a goddamned gun store. As of right now, Saints Row > GTA IV

That might be the best innovation they have, cell phone notwithstanding. I wish the driving was a little less Gran Turismo and a little more Burnout. In other words, I want more of the arcade-style racing than super-realistic driving. The days of laying on the handbrake to take a corner are over in GTA.

ha! i was kidding, i didn't know they had that.

I turned on the xbox last night. Seven friends were logged in, all playing GTA. I talked to one of my buddies about it and he's digging it pretty hard. From what he said and what I've read here it sounds like I'll be picking it up soon. and by soon i mean immediately after work.

I've found the driving to be easier as I go along. The key is not to hold down, just tap, the handbrake and to let go of the gas when cornering. The motorcycles are by far the easiest vehicles to drive

I noticed it gets significantly easier when you're not driving a POS. I got ahold of a convertible sports car(the Felzer I think) and it cornered *much* better. I still haven't gotten a handle on tapping the handbrake, I try but I'm not deft enough with it I guess.

Oh and try driving a chopper. That thing is hard as hell to corner with.

Yeah, the driving gets easier, but I keep trying to use the old buttons to do things. I was in a big chase and was driving the CRX style car. I hit a tree at full speed and got launched out through the windshield. Good times. And if you get tapped while driving, it can completely spin you out. And ramming your way through traffic doesn't work any more. Less arcade-y.

As for the slow start, they've always been that way. You have to work your way up to the good stuff. In San Andreas, most of your first missions, you didn't even get any money.

have you tried any of the multiplayer yet? I read a couple of reviews that like the variety, but the gameplay is a little tough. Playable, but tough.

ya, i know what he meant. i don't know if it's overrated, some games are better than others, and some game types lend themselves to be better multiplayer games than others.

Army of Two is a good example. The actual online play is very underwhelming, but playing co op in the campaign kicks ass.

i guess it just comes down to whether you want to play with/against a person or just the computer.

multiplayer is important to the LCD gamer. So is licensed music, leaderboards, blockbluster movie games, and stabbing people in COD.

In.

I'm not as far into the game as you, yet. But Michelle didn't mind me getting hammered. She gave me some coffee first try. Something tells me she's a plant/spy/somesuch.

:babyarm: Though I don't know why they'd be onto you right off the boat. Except that Niko is more notorious overseas than we know yet.

two things make me think she's a plant: she always asks questions about you and the horrible voice acting. I only hope it's horrible for a reason.

I don't think I'm allowed to play it, since it's not and LCD game. Although it's about criminals, which are sometimes referred to as the LCD of humanity, so there's a chance GameStop will let me buy it based on that loophole.

GameStop in Euless has plenty of copies, and it's right next to a Chik Fil A. It's a good time to live in Texas.
