I don't care for heated salsa.

I wouldn't want it all of the time, but I do like it at Mercado Juarez. Unfortunately, they've gone downhill in recent years and we don't go there very often.

Another salsa trick up that I enjoy is the homemade corn chips at Mexican Inn. They serve their salsa on the opposite end of the spectrum, extremely cold, and it works oh so well with the corn chips.

I dined this lunch afternoon at Blue Goose Cantina in Addison, and yep, I got a nice mix of refrieds and rice. I added some salsa, which was chunkier than usual with lots of cilantro. It was not heated. I also had brisket tacos.

I had Nate's Seafood in Addison. I had the gumbo, followed by the fried catfish and oysters. It was good.

I had a Harvest Chicken Salad sandwich at McAlisters. It was good but damn, that thing is almost 800 calories :|

Dunch would be a good idea today. We could all eat at the same place and report on how our food was in this thread.

Do you have a favorite dinner roll? Mine are the Alexia brand dinner roll. They are very delicious when they are pipin hot, fresh out of the oven. They are ciabatta style. They are also artisan. Not sure what that means but it sounds fancy. I like to tear my D Rs (dinner rolls) into pieces and dip them in a mixture of olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Sometimes balsamic vinegar burns my throat and can cause me to cough. Alexia dinrolls are packaged in a bag and are in the frozen food section. Each bag contains 8 d-rolls. Get this, they put 9 in the bag we bought. That's right, I got an extra roll for free.

I'm a big fan of these. We usually only have them on holidays, but, every now and then, Mrs. bigboy will run across leftovers in the freezer and heat them up for dinner. We typically only have bread when we do a pasta dish for dinner. I know this is probably sacrilege, but I also like the breadsticks from Olive Garden. The rest of their food sucks, but they draw you in with their hot breadsticks and tangy Italian salad dressing.

There's nothing wrong with the soup, salad, and breadsticks at Olive Garden. If some salad place were that good I'd eat there all the time. But you'd think an Italian food restaurant would know how to make Italian food that isn't comparable to dog shit.

Not sure how I feel about that. The finished product looked pretty good. Would eat the bread a lot quicker than I'd want to eat her.

Do you go down there every time as part of your foreplay package? My wife honestly likes to jump into sex within a minute or two of starting to fool around, sans cunnilingous. I either suck at foreplay (likely) or i am good at fucking (unlikely). I guess we have Atkins sex.

I usually play around down there manually. I get the feeling she would have me do that all night if I didn't wanna risk getting old wrinkled grandma hands.

The Hoobstress enjoys the digital experience. Not sure if she has experienced that before.

Knowing me, I'll probably start laughing the next time I put my mouth down there because I thought of this thread.

The look on her face in no way makes me think that those dinner rolls have been poisoned.

My wife baked cookies last night, and yes, they were chocolate chip. She also put pecans in them. Do you say puh-cahns or pee-cans? She tries to be a healthy baker. Baked goods suffer as a result. Instead of sugar she used a product called Xyla, an all natural sweetener derived from N American hardwoods. It is sweeter....healthier....smarter, with 40% fewer calories than sugar and 75% fewer carbs than sugar. It also makes cookies suck. I still ate 6. After eating them I noticed a small warning on the Xyla bag that "this product can have a mild laxative effect". Boy, does it ever. It was like the good ol days of Olestra diarrhea from Lay's. Very noxious gas as well. It's like leaving a plate of cookies out for the Captain. When you pull stuff out of a pipin hot oven do you ever stand over the open oven door and hold your shirt out so you can collect all the heat? That is very pleasurable.

My wife is baking cookies tonight (yes, chocolate chip here too). She does it for the people at work. Her own family is lucky to get to lick the bowl. Some people requested walnuts once so she made nothing but chocolate chip and walnut cookies. The kids and I don't like walnuts so we got nothing and liked it. She used to go crazy and make all kinds of different cookies, but not anymore. We still have old bottles of stuff like orange extract in the pantry from those days. Peppermint extract I think is in there too. And almond extract. Do you have a favorite extract?

When my wife bakes cookies she cracks open a tube of ready made dough, puts them on an oven tray (after spraying it with Pam) and pops them in the oven. That is what she calls baking. She is shit at baking.

@ fart & tit

They have as many kinds of Pam as they do of extract. They aren't usually flavors though, in regards to Pam. Pam does make a coconut oil cooking spray. There is also a coconut flavor extract. So they both have coconut in common. I think of the extracts regular vanilla is the most used. It also smells good. The movie Extract is bad. I bet regular Pam is the most popular, but I'd probably choose butter Pam for cookies, or maybe the Pam with flour. How do you think they got the flour in those cans?

I bet we're out of Pam at home. I betcha I get drafted to make a trip down to The Kroger's to get some Pam tonight. It'll probably be the special baking kind like for muffin pans. I'll also get beer while I'm there.

The hens have a 'cookie day'. They used to make the classics. Chocolate chip, oatmeal raisin, witches hats, etc. Now they're trying to be cute with a bunch of martha stewart bs cookies.

Last night's cookies became a half disaster. Something about the butter being too soft and the cookies crusted around the edges. She couldn't possibly gift such awful-looking cookies to people at work who don't give a shit anyway, but it was the end of the fucking world, right? She also tried to save time by cooking two batches at once. That's bullshit because one batch gets too close to the burner thingies at the bottom of the oven and the other one gets cock-blocked by the one on the bottom. Geez, even I know this shit. Plus our oven is old and we could use a new one, but we just bought a fridge (no, it's not a Whirlpool) and one thing at a time, yo. Anywho, she tried another batch and those worked better. She'll finish up tonight and gift on Wednesday instead. Now we have about 4 dozen chip chocolate chip cookies that aren't good enough for the people at work but plenty good for her husband and kids. So we got some after all. And you know what? There's nothing wrong with them. At. All. We'll finish them off in about a day.

We have a department potluck today. So not only do I have to eat a bunch of food that doesn't go together like chips/queso and chicken fried rice, but even worse, I have to be social. :click: :somey: I might start to feel sick in about an hour.

I haven't participated in a potluck since about 7 years ago when I looked down at my plate and saw turkey and gravy shared it with a slice of lasagna. Life's too short for that kinda bullshit. Go home sick. I'll write you a note.

I did have to dunch with a dude yesterday that picked a diner at Buckner & 30. The sides weren't bad or scarey but I really got too ballsy ordering fried catfish. Don't know wtf I was thinking here. It had that grey black muck I had to scrape off and was very fishy. The catsup was watery too. Still, I'd take a shitty diner over a potluck. I felt sorry for the waitress too. Diner waitresses are so beaten down.
