Just saw the commercial trailer for "Poseiden." Took me back to 1972 when I took Emily Shepard to the Fox Theatre in Knoxville to see "The Poseiden Adventure."

A daring 13 year old Ich actually held hands with the little tramp! Pretty shocking behavior for 1972.

No sweat MT. Like I said in a previous post. You're right. If he recovers without losing any mobility, I'm happy. Him having MD sucks, but it is what it is and we deal with it the best we can.

Upon reflection, I've found that at my most arrogant point in life, I really knew the least amount about life........

I was gonna post a cycling blog.... until I remembered that I don't have a bike..... But, being determined to post a blog, I went and rode Mrs. Ich instead.....

Rode Mrs. Ich 3 minutes, then took a 2 hour nap. Will probably retrain in another week.

Had a good giggle at work today... My cell phone rang and it was an Army recruiter calling for Ich Jr (whose an incoming senior in high school)

Had to give him an "Uh, Buddy, this really isn't a good idea" speech as the wheels on his wheelchair would most likely bog down whilst charging up a sand dune at a bunch of terrorists!

Then you remember Ichette and the boyfriend you don't like, and say "But I have a daughter..."

Happy Father's Day to all you Dads out there..... I'm not talking about you sperm donors who secretly regret that you have dependents, I'm talking about you men out there who take an active interest in your kid beyond trying to be their pal and checking out how hot his/her teachers are this year.

I'm talking about the guy that teaches his kid the value of a dollar by making him earn some of the money used to buy the baseball glove he wants.

I'm talking about the guy that holds his kid accountable for the lazy ass C or D he/she brings home from school and ensures that there is a price to pay until said grade is raised.

I'm talking about the guy that doesn't live with the family anymore, but busts his ass to ensure that he gets to school functions, ball games and dance recitals on non-custodial days.

I'm verrry happy to be a father. and are good little bastards. Bastard as in sacks of shit, not without a legit father. Or as far as I know now.

Anyway, they're getting into their teen years, and let me say, I'm SOOO thankful they're boys.
Otherwise, I'd probably own a gun now.

Just got back from visiting Mrs. Ich's family back in Tennessee. Nice visit. Got to have dinner with one of my buddies from back in the day, who regaled my kids with story of their father that has them looking at me in a new light!

Only real down-side of the trip (aside from seeing my mother-in-law) was the fact that I spit out a crown this morning at 4:00 AM while driving I-40 West eating a protein bar....... Honestly, I don't want to say I have bad luck, but if I got caught in a storm raining pussy, the one I would catch would already have a dick in it!

I see the dentist at 11:30 in the morning!

No real pain as long as I don't chew on that side.

Crown is a fake tooth that sits down over the remnants of the original tooth...... Remember to brush and floss after meals!

Had to perform the Heimlich manuever on a lady in a Tex Mex restaurant in Oklahoma City.
At 13, helped carry a hunter 3 miles out of the woods with half his foot blown off.
Got Buford Pusser's autograph when the first Walking Tall movie played in Knoxville.
At 16, shook hands with a drunken Ernie Grunfeld after sneaking into a bar.
Have operated a train engine.
Motorcycled to Sturgis, SD and back from Missouri on a Harley.
Drunkenly, walked nude from the beach across the street to the condo I was staying at while in Myrtle Beach (arrest free).
Have run 2 marathons.
My first concert was Bachman-Turner Overdrive at 13 years old.
So far. I've owned 12 cars and 3 motorcycles.
Currently, I'm living in my eighth house.

Went back and read some of the threads from the old forum site last night. The Prez has some absolute gold saved for posterity's sake.......

Reading my old posts from a strictly analytical viewpoint reveals to myself that I certainly have a seedy nature about meh..... I mean, I don't know if its obvious to the rest of you.......

Spent most of the week at my company's headquarters in Napa, California. Napa Valley is a pretty part of the country, but I was somewhat underwhelmed........

I guess since I don't drink I wasn't as impressed about being in "wine country" Honestly, how exciting is it really to drive down the highway and look at grapes?!?

Well it's that time of year again! Time for me to marvel.

I marvel at the fact that, as of today, Mrs. Ich has called me her husband for 24 years! Now don't get me wrong, in the last 24 years Mrs. Ich has called me plenty of other names, but Husband has been the constant!

24 years of made up of happiness tempered with deep sorrow, of triumphs and tragedies, progressive times and very lean times. 24 years of what ifs and why nots.

The journey to now has been an experience that has truly been enhanced by the fact that Mrs. Ich has been along for the ride every step of the way!

Looking forward to the next 24!

46! I am 46 years old today! This seems so surreal to me. I am officially 4 years away from 50!

When I was younger, I never truly thought I'd live to this age (Primarily due to living a lifestyle that included a lot of hard drinking, smoking of things other than tobacco, and not particularly respecting the fact that a given female was involved in a relationship or not) Still and well I'm here and I guess I have Mrs. Ich to thank for settling my ass down and increasing my longevity.

All and all it's not so bad (I mean it beats the alternative of NOT being 46). I have a few well documented aches and pains, but overall I'm still functioning. My favorite organ is still playing 3-5 times a week without having to use a little blue pill and Mrs. Ich is usually present on at least two of the occasions!

The career appears to have stabilized for now (At least until the next merger occurs) The kids are doing okay and my in laws still live exactly 958 miles away (driveway to driveway).

All in all 46 is not as scary as it sounds!
