Some cool looking non conventional hot type waited on me at a UPS store recently. I pined for her but could think of nothing to say. She was playing some interesting music so I was like "hey who is this music you're playing?" I used a tone so it sounded like it was just on the tip of my tongue. She perked up, told me it was the new Tom Waits Bad as Me album. Wanting to keep the momentum going when I shoulda shut up, I said "I read that got good reviews, hey, didn't he just have a birthday?" It was all business again after that and I left with hot face.

Since then, I've given it several listens. Tit, I don't want to tell you your business, but it is a kick ass album. Also, his birthday is Dec. 7. He lives in Sonoma county with a wife and 3 kids.

Tom Waits is one of my favorites peoples in the whole world. The new album is 17 different kinds of awesome. It's typical Tom Waits, but the songs are still great. For an old man, he's still got it.

Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit are playing Club DaDa in April. Saw them play the Granada last November. I'm so there.

Took Mrs. Ich down to The Granada tonight to see Colin Hay. Great performance. For you unenlightened, Colin is the former lead singer of Men At Work. He played 2.5 hours tonight on stage by himself. Great night of music and story telling.

Don't know when or if I'll get to it. Simple Song is great but I was really underwhelmed by their last album so I haven't been all that eager to hear the new one. Broken Bells was a decent side project that's worth a listen.
