I haven't seen a movie in like 5 years.

Kids ruin going to the movies. You'll catch back after 20 years or so.

I've only seen 3 of the BP nominees. 2 were good, 1 was not.

Ranking the BP noms as I see them.

1. The Power of the Dog
2. Nightmare Alley
3. Dune
4. Don't Look Up

2 and 3 are pretty close, but I like noir more than sci-fi.

Did "Don't Look Up" get nominated because it's a Hollywood circle jerk or because it actually deserves it? I thought it was good but at no time while viewing did I think "WOW".

The former. It has its fans, but I think it's the new Idiocracy. People like the premise so much that they don't realize the movie itself is a mess.

1. King Richard
2. Dune

Dune was fine, but I chose King Richard due to Will Smith’s performance, which tit will probably shit on. King Richard was also easier to get through.

I finally watched the original West Side Story and... I don't get it. Music and dancing etc is good, but the plot is really thin. I mean, one guy kills the girl's brother and she's like "that's okay, let's fuck!" I always see this and Singin' in the Rain on a lot of all-time top ten lists and I don't get it. I thought Singin' in the Rain had several just stop downs for pointless musical numbers, which is a curse of the musical, I know. I think I remember a weird dream sequence near the end that seemingly had nothing to do with anything. I like musicals, but both of these seem less than classic to me.

My daughter has been on a musical kick lately, so I’ve watched In the Heights and Tick Tick Boom the last two nights. I am losing. Both were good though. At this point, im just happy she’s willing to hang out with me. Neither were nominated for Best Picture, btw. I’m sure West Side Story is next.

I like West Side Story well enough. This version is good, but I don't know if it was necessary. Mrs Tit also hates musicals and slept thru the whole thing. She also watched about a dozen seasons of Dancing with the Stars, so I'll just say she's inconsistent.

I'm rethinking Dune and it might should be higher on the list.

The Music Man got me hooked on musicals.

I watched Nightmare Alley last night. The twist was kinda telegraphed - that’s probably what they were going for. I loved the ending ending. Brutal. Not sure if I put it over King Richard or not. Probably not. I put them both over Dune. I’ve only seen those 3.

I haven't seen a damn one of them other than West Side Story but I have it on in the background anyway. Is CODA that bad? I thought the reaction of the guy from the movie winning best supporting actor was kinda cool.

It's a good movie, just very TV movie of the week. If it wins, it's not another Crash, but it's another The Artist, Spotlight, or Green Book that no one will ever watch again.

I saw the unedited version of the slap on Barstool sports. That was awesome. I think that was real.

And I watched Dune last night. That was a good movie. Can't wait for the sequel.
