1. I predicted rap's death by 1990. I was wrong, unfortunately.

2. We used to have beer summits back in the seventies. The difference between then and now is, we actually DRANK beer during them.

3. Funny how rap music came on the scene and MTV went into the crapper.

Rap music started before MTV did. And in the mid eighties both were very popular. Simply because you don't like rap music, don't blame it for the current state of the music industry.

Rap is definitely a contributor. I wouldn't blame it on the downfall of the music industry anymore than I would blame modern country music. Although if I had to blame one or the other, I would pick country.

I've used this quote many times, but it really rings true here. Richard Linklater (director of "Dazed & Confused") said that the best music ever made is whatever you listened to when you were 18.

Our parents hated our music, as did their parents. It will go on like that forever.

I'm pushing 40 and I believe there's still tons of great music being released today. But then, I'm an incredibly enlightened person.

I don't understand the need of these waterheads who give homework assignments that have to be done on a computer.

I don't understand how I can learn 'em up real good while they're in here and others can't.

This is my 17th year in this business and I have NEVER given homework. Even when I teach stuff like accounting, I don't give homework.
