We get as much taken out as possible on our paychecks. Going back to the other thread - this is one of the things that I have made clear. I do not want to see that I owe money when Tax Time comes around.

Owing money is actually good. All the money you paid in above what you actually owed was used to pay for the bonuses on Wall Street. I kept the money in my pocket and and invested it. And drank Crown and played golf with it as well.

Everyone gets cited about getting money back, but if you owe or get something back, you're doing something wrong. If shit were perfect, you'd come out even at tax time. I don't understand how to do that so I just get meh big check and slowly spend it over the course of the year.

A few companies pay me as a contractor and I have 1099s adding up to a decent amount. I never took money out because, well, there was too much drinking to do.

My CPA did a little number crunching and voila, I'm getting a nice tax refund. He did look at me funny when he saw that I was turning in all of my Crown receipts. I told him I drink it to deal with the pressures of work. He said it sounded work related to him so he deducted it.

So I'll be needing that guys name and number for next year.

I had to write a pretty big check once and I'm never doing that again. We get some back every year now.
