I a matter of 3 weeks 4 of my most anticipated games of the year are coming out. And I just picked up 2 of them. From what I can tell Blitz II is fucking neato. They're doing the same sort of thing they did with Blitz the League, just a different way. It looks fucking amazing. Seriously fucking amazing. I almost barfed the first time I saw a collarbone snap. The gameplay is improved and the campaign mode has a couple new features - girlfriends and sponsors. Anyway its neat.

Saints Row 2 is also fucking neat. The customization on this bitch is insane. I made me a pink haired little chinese bitch. Just going through the first customization to start the game is a fucking blast. I was laughing my ass off picking voices, facial expressions, taunts and the like. There's some fucking funny shit. And going into the world, if you played the first one is weird because it really is the same town but with major renovations. It plays like a cross between Dead Rising and GTA. You can pick up just about anything you want to use as a weapon. I like pulling parking meters out of the ground and whacking folks on the head with that shit. Anyway, its fucking neat. for real.

Call of Duty 5 is due out next month. If you reserve a copy at Gamestop and register with Activision they'll send you a code to download the beta.

if you keep up with the history of CoD you know they have a weird alternating development contract with two different companies. One actually makes good games and the second makes ho hum games that sell because people liked the game the first devs made. #5 was done by the shitty one. Fair warning. Even if you like CoD... wait for a review by a major game reviewer.

Yeah, I've heard about it. The bad company is Treyarch. I've read all kinds of horror stories about Cod 3, and a lot of people are worried about 5. From the footage I've seen, it looks pretty good. I talked to a friend that talked to a friend that says the online play is as good as CoD4, just set in WWII. I'll find out in a few days when I play the beta.

btw, Infinity Ward made Cod4 and CoD2. CoD2 is THE best single player campaign I've ever played. I know you don't dig FPS war simulators, but if you ever take the plunge, start with CoD2. It doesn't disappoint.

it was just Fable 2 (out tomorrow) and Fallout 3 (next tuesday), but I had forgotten that Far Cry 2 comes out today. Basically each Tuesday from now til thanksgiving a great game is coming out.

I've heard from a few people now that it's really good. I'm putting that one on my list, but it's gonna be a while before I can get to it. I prepurchased CoD5 on Saturday, hopefully will have the beta code emailed to me today or tomorrow. And I've still got a couple of other games I never finished that I need to get back to. Made some good headway in GoW this weekend.

Found out also that CoD5 has a 4 player co-op mode, not the normal 2. That should be pretty cool.

If you get it from gamestop you get a code for a ufo vehicle...seriously. there is so much to love about that shit. Fucking fight club, demo derby (if you beat it you get access to the special derby including monster trucks, golf carts and tons of other odd vehicles), shocking people with cardio paddles, streaking, driving a fucking septic truck around and spraying poo... its what GTA should have been: fun.

Each store has a different set of stuff you can buy. You can make your character look like a mime.. or in my case, color the mime makeup brown and put your guy in black face. So many bits... this game completes me.

Every game should have this feature.

I'm gonna hold off on far cry because I just don't have time to be working in 10 different new games at once. So why pay full price? But I'll check the online reviews.

sometimes. They go overboard trashing games like Saints Row for being ridiculous when thats was the point and give GTA a perfect score while complaining about flaws in the review. But overall, they're good. Its a decent gauge of how good a game is. I think they tend to rate things a tick lower than other review sites. They fancy themselves elitists. But a lot of review sites are bullshit... so they may just be realistic.

IGN is another solid reviewer.

I'm not apologizing for shit. And I don't see where its anywhere close to a rehash. Its a major upgrade in just about every area. And I think it's fucking awesome, period. We just like different shit. I'm a big fan of overthetop sandbox shit and anything with a progressive type RPG element where you can constantly upgrade your shit. And that's why I love it. I've played probably 20-30 hours on it having only done 2 maybe 3 main missions. I'm just running around trying to see what shit I can do with my character. Its why I like RPGs... there's always something else to be building towards. Shit, thats why I like NCAA over Madden despite the lack of the bells and whistles. The recruiting is one of the best parts of the game. If you're getting this game because you want to just do the campaign and then move on, I probably wouldn't recommend it.

And that goes triple for Fable II. I wanted to kill myself for the first half-hour of the game... its basically one long drawn-out interactive cutscene that offers little besides the most basic jumping off point for the game. Its retardedly easy, the customization is kinda whack (especially for female characters), everything Molyneaux touted for this game is some gay, hippy-ass, retarded unrealistic gimmick of an idea someone had when they were high. The game seems disorganized, slow, uninteresting (especially when its trying to be dramatic), but for some reason I keep playing it. But there are a lot of dynamics in play that are fun to fuck with and just see what happens when you do this or that. IE the sandbox stuff. The jokes are mostly sophomoric and you might laugh at them within the first 10 minutes of playing the game as an adult character, but it's all repeated so many times it loses its humor. The game is for kids... plain and simple. This is a rehash. I'm just glad I got it for exactly what Force Unleashed and Madden got me in trade, so I didn't put a dime down for it. But I'm gonna play it, I'm gonna kill all the villagers, buy their houses, double the rent, get STDs and have evil infant children spread all over the map (which is a piece of shit too, btw), and see how miserable this game will let me make its characters... and find out a way to kick that fucking dog in the ribs.

Even tho SR2 just seems like an expansion pack to SR I will admit it's still entertaining.

Its worth it to go through all the ambulance diversions. You'll net a pair of defibrillators that are a blast to play with. You can kill people and then revive them and kill them again. Of course your wanted level doesn't decrease because you unkilled a guy.

I'll give that a try.
