Liked it okay, but it was funny in the wrong places. I liked the twist despite my nerdiness. As for funny, many funnys were good but it over-reached-around and tried too hard to make her come. As good as Thor or 'Murica but won't rush out to buy the bluray. Coda scene was a good.

Caddyshack question:
Going into the final hole Ty/Danny and Dr. Beeper/Judge Smails are all square. Ty misses his putt, Dr. Beeper misses his, Judge Smailes makes his and Danny makes his, but Danny makes his for the win....how is that?

Al (Rodney Dangerfield) makes a final double-or-nothing bet that Danny makes the putt which Smails accepts, making their scores for day irrelevant. Then they all get laid or take a shower depending on what channel you're watching it on.

Cloud Atlas - I liked this movie, but then again I read the book, so I knew what was going on. If you haven't read it, you will likely be confused. They chop up 6 separate stories and jump back and forth between them at a crazy pace, rarely settling down to let you focus on one. It makes sense in the end and the parallels are kinda cool. I wanna see it again and see what else I can get out of it. However, it's kinda a fail for the movie to be such a mess for the uninitiated. I really liked it. You probably won't. Stay away from this movie.

Argo - Based on true events, Argo chronicles the life-or-death covert operation to rescue six Americans, which unfolded behind the scenes of the Iran hostage crisis-the truth of which was unknown by the public for decades. On November 4, 1979, as the Iranian revolution reaches its boiling point, militants storm the U.S. embassy in Tehran, taking 52 Americans hostage. But, in the midst of the chaos, six Americans manage to slip away and find refuge in the home of the Canadian ambassador. Knowing it is only a matter of time before the six are found out and likely killed, a CIA "exfiltration" specialist named Tony Mendez (Ben Affleck) comes up with a risky plan to get them safely out of the country. A plan so incredible, it could only happen in the movies.

Quote of the movie - "There are suicide missions with better odds than this."

Life of Pi: pretty good. great visual effects. hard to talk about without giving away the twist ending. that said, thoughts about the ending: my dad, a turbo baptist, raved about it and believed in the unreligious twist which surprised me---especially after in the beginning of the movie we were promised by a growns up Pi to hear a story "that would make you believe in God". The whole movie then centers around Pi stranded at sea with a man eating tiger, being miraculously fed at times when starvation was seemingly imminent, and general faith/tribulation scenarios. My dad scoffed at the reality of all that and said it was clearly scenario 2 where Pi was the tiger and killer and the entire movie had been figments of his imagination to cope. When I reminded him of the Old Testament stories from Sunday School like Johah and the whale, Daniel and the lion's den, manna from heaven, and stuff like that and made the correlation to Pi's adventure he acted totally put out and retorted with, "yeah, but those things really happened--Pi was just a movie". huh.

Life of Pi - Dude gets lost and found at sea, tells the story about it, people don't believe it, so he tells another more believable story. TG's dad is right - the 2nd story is the true story.

Meh. I was into it until it got to the part where Robert DeNiro's character placed a bet on the dance contest. It fell apart quickly at that point.

Side Effects
Rooney Mara, Catherine HPV Cooch Jones, Jude Law, etc

Wasn't bad. Starts out as a screed against Big Pharma. Not the end all be all, but not bad to watch from DVD/online streaming/your mom's vag.

This is 40 (minutes too long) - It wasn't about turning 40. It was about a couple who fought all the time. The wife, though hot and willing to show her boobies, was annoying as shit with her constant complaining - she did offer to give the husband a BJ out of nowhere at one point, which is nice, but totally unrealistic. There were some solid laughs in here, but it dragged on way too long and I got bored by the end. The wife picked it. She's picked worse. I didn't get a BJ afterwards, but I did get some consentual, missionary sex. I stole the parenthesized part of the title.

World War Z - Decent, but not great. Needed some awesome zombie-fu violence. There was barely any blood in this thing at all. I guess the slow, shuffling zombies aren't cinematic enough anymore, so they all gotta be fast, which isn't as scary. Zombies are scary because if they catch you, they'll rip you apart and eat you. That's a bad death. These fast ones just bite you once and so you'll turn and become one of them. I can handle that, in fact, that's better than any much more common and real death like drowning. Oh, and you can pick this movie apart on all sorts of plot logistics, but I enjoyed it anyway. Just wish they'd would've gone for the R rating.
