I read every word and enjoyed it. Thanks for posting that.

Kenny Wallace's instructions to the author were interesting:

"You know, this has been like therapy for me. I want to make sure you understand that he was a good man. I want to make sure you know the full story. Don't you fuck it up."

Toni Stewart is not one of my favorite drivers, although he does do some stuff that I like. For example, he is really into sprint cars, and drives them even though people criticize him for it. He even gets mad because he gets questioned about it. I like that about him, too.

However, a sprint car boo-boo is going to cause him to miss some races and not make it into the chase this year.

I still hate that sonofabitch.

There are only two road races during the year, and today is one of them: the race in Watkins Glen, New York. This track was built in 1956 and although it wasn't built for NASCAR, that is the most prominent racing group to use the place now. I love reading about the history of the place, which has changed many times over the years.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: one of the things I want to do before I die is to watch a race at this historic track. I'll be watching today for sure.

I've also said this before: stay away from this race.

The Nationwide series (AAA minor league) is racing at Mid-Ohio on Saturday. This is a tight road course. If I'm home, I'm going to tune in just for the wrecks.

http://www.thatsracin.com/2013/08/16/11 ... nwide.html

Stay away from this race.

Michigan is today. It's a fast, boring track. Jimmie Johnson has never won here, and he starts from the back in a backup car. He will win. It will be boring.

Stay away from this race.

Poor ole Jimmie's engine died early on. June Bug blew a tire and hit the wall. It was a good race for old Hoob. I wonder who the Junior Lovin' Tards blamed this time.

Joey Logano won. He was in second when my fave Mark Martin ran out of gas with three laps to go. I'm okay with Joey winning.

This weekend the race is at Atlanta. Of all of the 1.5 mile tracks, this one is my favorite. They go really fast here. Shit happens. I'll be watching it.

Stay away from this race.

Big stuff happened today as a result of Saturday's race, and all of it involved Michael Waltrip Racing. His drivers are Martin Truex, Clint Boyer, and Brian Vickers.

The last race before the chase was Richmond. Clint Boyer spun on purpose to give his teammate, Martin Truex the chance to get in, and he did. This caused Ryan Newman to miss the chance to race for the championship. Boyer was suggested to spin by his crew chief over the radio, using odd code words.

Another driver on the same team, Brian Vickers, was ordered to jack off on the track. They ordered Vickers to pit even though he didn't need to. Fuckers. They were trying to make sure Truex got in, but the effect of it was to knock Jeff Gordon out of the chase.

NASCAR penalized Michael Waltrip racing for their shenanigans, and Truex got a DQ from the chase and Newman is in. They did not put Gordon in, however.

Good for NASCAR. It is the first time in history that they have ever taken a step this big. Hoob approves.

Soooooo, for being a bunch of cheatin' sons of bitches, Michael Waltrip racing gets their ass hung up on by NAPA. Goodbye, $16 million a year sponsorship.

This is what happens when your fan base is made up of mostly 3 toothed white trashed idjuts that live off of food stamps and gubmnt checks for "disabilities" (ie, fat w bad knees or bad backs that mysteriously can't be cured) and sit around bitchin bout dem crack whore welfare niggers half the time and the other half rebuilding their step dad's old '73 Cutlass with parts from Jim Bob's Pick 'n Pull cause they damn sure can't afford any fucking new parts from an overpriced auto parts store that doesn't even advertise on television anymore.

I almost don't believe this. Wonder Bread is sponsoring Kurt Busch's car at Talladega on October 20. I wish he would win.

They just need someone else sponsored by Perrier.

Isn't Wonder Bread a Hostess brand? I haven't seen any bread in stores since the return of the Twinkie.

Fuck, no. I'm too old.

Stay away from this race.

By the way, on Friday night some dumbass was running from the Decatur cops and ended up on 114 going east, going about 120, headed straight for the fucked up traffic at TMS. He wrecked out before he got there.

Hoob.

It looks like someone might be going to race using the number 3 next year, and it's Richard Childress' grandson, Austin Dillon. Let the weeping and the gnashing of teeth begin.

I only wish it was somebody that was really hated by Dale's fans, but this will do.

A common criticism of the Chase format is, it screws with the standings. As usual, in 2013, the same person would have won either way.

FINAL 2013 Sprint Cup Driver Chase Championship Points Standings:
[after Homestead, race 36 of 36]
1) #48-Jimmie Johnson [6 wins], 2419
2) #20-Matt Kenseth [7 wins], 2400, -19
3) #29-Kevin Harvick [4 wins], 2385, -34
4) #18-Kyle Busch [4 wins], 2364, -55
5) #88-Dale Earnhardt Jr., 2363, -56
6) #24-Jeff Gordon [1 win], 2337, -82
7) #15-Clint Bowyer, 2336, -83
8) #22-Joey Logano [1 win], 2323, -96
9) #16-Greg Biffle [1 win], 2321, -98
10) #78-Kurt Busch, 2309, -110
11) #39-Ryan Newman [1 win], 2286, -133
12) #5-Kasey Kahne [2 wins], 2283, -136
13) #99-Carl Edwards [2 wins], 2282, -137

UNOFFICIAL 2013 Sprint Cup Driver Championship Points Standings without Chase:
[after Homestead, race 36 of 36]
1) #48-Jimmie Johnson(X) [6 wins], 1248
2) #29-Kevin Harvick(X) [4 wins], 1207, -41
3) #20-Matt Kenseth(X) [7 wins], 1192, -56
4) #18-Kyle Busch(X) [4 wins], 1163, -85
5) #88-Dale Earnhardt Jr.(X), 1144, -104
6) #99-Carl Edwards(X) [2 wins], 1118, -130
7) #15-Clint Bowyer(X), 1115, -133
8) #24-Jeff Gordon(X) [1 win], 1087, -161
9) #16-Greg Biffle(X) [1 win], 1077, -171
10) #22-Joey Logano(X) [1 win], 1071, -177
11) #78-Kurt Busch(X), 1071, -177
12) #2-Brad Keselowski [1 win], 1041, -207
13) #39-Ryan Newman(X)[1 win], 1027, -221
14) #5-Kasey Kahne(X) [2 wins], 1022, -226
15) #1-Jamie McMurray [1 win], 1007, -241
(X) = a Chase driver.

As expected, Austin Dillon will drive the number 3 next year. Yes, it will be a black car most of the time. Dow Chemicals will be the sponsor.

Sometimes he will drive a yellow car, and General Foods will be the sponsor there.

*Rubs hands together* Oh boy, this is going to be great....

Here's a story about Jeremy Mayfield's former house scheduled to be burned down on Saturday. It was foreclosed upon and is "in neglect." it was valued at $3.8 million. What a dumbfuck.

I see that June Bug's crew chief has announced that this is his last year with the team. He's going to be a race analyst on NBC in 2015.

I have heard that working on these teams is horribly difficult work, and the stress on crew chiefs is terrible. Seven days a week. I've heard before that even though they are off from November to February, many work seven days during that time, some during Christmas day.

I have mentioned before a guy on Twitter called Nascarcasm who is funny as hell. Today he came up with something called, "The real reason why Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Steve LeTarte are breaking up." He says it has to do with Junior's obsession with eBay and a Captain and Tennille album. Fox Sports thought it would be funny to pick up the story. Good on them.

The Junior Lovin' Tards (JLTs) who thought it was a serious article and made dumbass comments are the reasons why I hope he never wins another race in his life. I really hate these sonofabitches.

Here is a minor story about a truck series driver's sponsor going belly-up.

http://sports.yahoo.com/news/nascar-130 ... ascar.html

It got me to thinking about all the sponsors who poured in millions, then got out of the game. Tide. Snickers. Folger's. Viagra. Winston. Citgo. John Deere. Busch. Mobil. Kmart. I could name thousands of brands who were prominent at some point.

They've got to be running out of suckers soon.

NASCAR is instituting a set system of penalties for people who break the rules. However, we don't know what the penalties are, nor do we ever see the actual rulebook.

They are also replacing the arbitrator who lessened quite a few penalties on key drivers and teams, including a big one on Jimmie Johnson and Chad Knaus at Daytona a few years ago. I am glad they got rid of that guy.

Richard Petty is a cheap dumbass. Really, I hate him and his dumbass son Kyle. But Danica didn't do very well last year. He does make a few points.

I side with her, though.

Because Richard Petty is a dumbass. Several of his 7 Daytona wins were wild ass luck. Or from cheatin'. Who do you think was in third place, but won the 1979 race when Cale Yarborough and Donnie Allison crashed on the last lap and then had the famous fight on the infield? Uh-huh. Typical Petty luck.

And his 200 total wins? Many of those were at places that held only a couple of thousand fans, and some races were on dirt. He didn't race against against Pearson, the Yarboroughs, and the Allisons every time. Many times it was against Bobby Joe Bobbyvich and his ilk. The last 7 years he raced, he was a total spare, winning nothing and really, not coming close.

So fuck Richard Petty.

I went to bed last night because the Daytona 500 put me to sleep. Woke up this morning to see that June won.

If I had stayed up and watched that, I would have kicked my own ass.

I see that the site, over88ted.com hasn't been updated since 2012. According to their count, the dumb bastard hasn't won in

Today is the race at Bristol. It used to be my favorite track, not so much now. However, with the car changes it might be a good race again today. Well, I heard that yesterday on the Dick Hicks Raceweek CD. I'll be watching this one for sure.

Stay away from this race.

Nearly everybody that I hate struggled or had misfortune. June got lapped and it was ignored by the TV hosts.

Jimmie Johnson had tire problems early and wasn't a factor. Harvick blew up and hit the wall. Only Toni Stewart did well, finishing in the top 5. Then he ate a bag of cheeseburgers.

My favorite driver, Carl Edwards won.

But the greatest thing that happened was Danica taking off after a pit stop and drilling another car parked in front of her. I laughed like a hyena when it happened.

I think that Darrell Waltrip might be suffering from senility of some sort. He's 67, so it could be happening.

Here is a story that has something for everyone. It has NASCAR, Bristol Motor Speedway, massive pot smoking, church, a crazy woman, and a woman driver. As an added bonus, weed apologists are commenting.

Texas is this weekend. According to wunderground, we have a 60 percent chance of rain on Sunday. I wonder if I can bet on that.

Kyle Douche is the defending champ. He won from the pole last spring, putting millions of people to sleep.

The Duck Dynasty people are involved in sponsoring this. Hoob's take on the Robertsons: they aren't fake.

Hoob.

P.S. Stay away from this race.

There are people who track the number of commercials during races. Here is a shocking number for a 3-hour race at Darlington:

Total number of commercials: 125

Hoob's take: What in the wide, wide, world of sports is the matter with these people? These are commercials where they leave the broadcast, not the split-screen type. 125 commercials? And why are people not watching this stuff?

It is just one of many reasons why NASCAR is fucked up.
