One of the things that drives me nuts about the Hicks era of Rangers baseball is that we were beat over the head with "DVD is untradeable" while the likes of Brad Wilkerson and Frank Catalanotto were shoved down our throats. And all 3 of those guys have languished in mediocrity since leaving here and as best I can tell Diamond is out of baseball.

If Profar can be dealt for a badass first baseman or another arm for the rotation, I'm all for it. Money whip Elvis and make him a Ranger for life.

I'll never understand the logic behind thinking that the team will fall apart with Young's "leadership" on the bench 3 days a week when there's a 24 year old that is quite capable of taking up the mantle (and probably already has in a lot of ways).

Just caught Moreland's run saving stab in the 8th. Thinking about what would have happened had Young been playing 1B last night. If the Rangers are lucky enough to play in the WS again and Wash decides to put Young at 1B on the road, I'm going to cry.

Moreland might not be an all star at the plate, but he's great on the field. PADMY wouldn't have had time to dive after that one, so I'm guessing he would have just watched it roll to Cruz while the game was tied up.

12-7 going into the last game. Angels are all but done. Oak isn't out of the hunt, but an implosion can't be far off.

I hope they don't. I'd much rather face the Baltimore/Oakland winner than TB or Detroit in the ALDS.

Fuck Rodney and ridiculous crooked cap. MLB needs to fix that shit. He looks like a dumbass. I know cap agrees with me.

And now he will sit on the bench for 2 straight weeks. To be honest, I'm shocked he played and not Gentry.

Were there any Royals fans at this game? It was in KC. Kinda reminded me of a Rangers home game against the Red Sox about five years ago.

I hope Bob and Dan will have this call on Homer Call of the Week. It's the KC announcers talking about Nellie getting plunked and then MY's home run on the very next pitch.

The KC play-by-play guy is a pretentious d-bag, but Rangers twitter was all up in arms for Nellie getting hit. If the Rangers hit a Royal for standing in the box too long, Rangers twitter would have been all up in arms for that. Even super homer Tom Grieve didn't seem to have too much of a problem with Nellie getting hit.

and that HR by Young was pretty awesome. But if that's his "something grand" that Wash talked about, that's not gonna do it for me.

They said that after his HR in Toronto and he went on his worst stretch of the season, which is saying a lot.

:babyarm: Young's home run yesterday means we won't see him on the field again until 2014.

A meaningless game against the Royals is on. And the Cowboys have their season opener.

Guess what I've got on. Beltre just hit a 3 run shot.

KC has a Humble Billy like PA announcer.

And does anybody else think KC looks a hell of a lot better than their record?

and Young hit another HR. Olt will play against Lefties, Gentry will be a defensive replacement, Profar will never see the field.

When Wash and Grieve say a teenager shouldn't be taking at bats away from a veteran on a potential championship team, I wonder if they've noticed what a teenager is doing in DC for the team with the best record in baseball.

That last pitch was a bad call but that ump was consistly calling strikes at that location the whole game.
