That was the plan when I chose game 5. That, and I thought there was a good chance it would be the last game. And it might be. :(

Woah. I knew about C.J.'s blister, but I didn't know he used Super Glue on it in the second inning:

I guess if you gotta win three straight, Lee, Wilson and Colby is a pretty fucking good three to do it with.

Why didn't Wash have Elvis bunt after that Moreland lead off hit? Stupid stupid stupid! These runs aren't going to make themselves.

Congrats to the Rangers on a storybook season.

But I'm a very happy Giants fan right now.

I liked when Lee answered with 'we' and 'future' when a reporter asked about this season. Now just give him the money.

Lee has a definite Vanderjagt vibe about him but as long as he delivers it's all good. We'll see just how big Greenberg's 12 pounder is soon.

A caller just had a good point: "My favorite team just won the World Series: Any team besides the Yankees"

Glad the Rangers got to spoil their year.

it IS loser talk, especially considering the Yankees will probably wind up signing Lee.

Ya know the Musers were saying itmight cost as much as $20 million a year to sign Cliff. If I were John Daniels I'd have to think long and hard about a contract that expensive.

I'd just have to consider that $20 million a year would buy multiple RELIABLE relief pitchers as well.

Use Vlad's $9 mil for relief pitchers.

Honestly, I think the demise of the bullpen is being overblown. They were money this season. They came uncorked during the playoffs, but that's such a small sample size. O'Day was good, but he would give up a hit after getting two outs, then Lowe or Holland would allow his inherited runner in. I think he was better than his ERA shows. Ogando barely pitched. Feliz was great. Oliver sucked a little against TB, but did fine against NYY and SF. Francisco should be back (sorry, Stu).

Bullpens usually aren't worth spending a ton of money on anyway. Chances are a relief pitcher who's great one season will suck the next. Aside from a handful of closers, there are no sure bets out of the bullpen.

I would like to see someone replace Nippert and someone ready to push out Oliver. I think Matt Harrison can get better. Ogando will only get better. Strop needs to be sent back on a Visa violation.

Rangers declined Vlad's $9 mil option. That's a good start to the offseason.

Other than signing Lee and other pitching moves what should be the Ranger's goals in the off season? I would like to see Young go to DH that way you have a guy that can still play in the field and let others DH. Are there any good catchers out there? What about thirdbasemen that don't have the range of Christopher Reeve.

Honestly I think they need both corners. You need a slugger at first, not just a nice defensive player. When your 1b is batting 8th or 9th, something is wrong. If you got a decent 3rd and CF, then both Young and Hamilton could DH from time to time to save the wear and tear.

Is Fancouer your right fielder? If these things are addressed then you can live with a decent defensive catcher who can handle a staff.

What's wrong with Murphy in left Hamilton in center and Cruz in right with Borbon as the 4th with the condition that Hamilton gets a lot time off and at DH?
