I especially liked last night when Josh asked if Paul McCartney would cover any David Allen Coe. :click:

good lord, I heard that. Talk about failed.

Although hearing Macca sing "Cum Stains on the Pillow" would be worth the price of admission.

From the Newberg report:

According to multiple local reports, Rangers sources have confirmed that the club has “all but completed a trade with Houston” for Ivan Rodriguez, who would come in as Taylor Teagarden’s backup while Jarrod Saltalamacchia is on the disabled list.

No word yet on who Texas would be giving up, though it’s reportedly “two mid-tier prospects.”

More as details develop.

I like Pudge as much as the next guy, but he's old and off the roids. Should we be trading away anything for him?

I'm dumb.

Our season is circling the drain. We can't beat Oakland or Minnesota.

I hate the automatic left righty matchup. Borbon is your hottest hitter but you hit Jones for him. Then Jones jogs out a double play ball.

I hate the anti-automatic lefty righty opinions. No one says shit until it doesn't work out in their favor. These guys are pros. You drink Dr. pepper. I think they can handle it.

Calling that effort jogging is being nice to him.

And then he strikes out to end the game. Fag. But he's not why we lost.

HSO: Whatever conditioning that Millwood did in the off-season has been discarded and he's not in that great of shape now.

A bunch of runners left in scoring position. The pitching staff has carried this thing for a couple minths. Time for these hitters to snap out of it.

Damn, I knew Hicks was in trouble and MLB and Selig were involved but I didn't know Selig had capped the bidding on Purke at 2.3 mill. The 4 mill the Rangers offered wasn't even a real offer. I guess that's what the Rangers get for drafting a guy who had made his demands clear from the get go but still...

If you heard JD talking about it on the ticket yesterday, it all seems like they did it on purpose. It's a classic Hicks move. How many times has he been fake interested in signing someone only to come up short and say, "hey, i tried?" I'm not saying it's a bad move. It's just fishy as all shit.

So you think Hicks is still really in charge and he's come up with this smoke screen report that he isn't in charge and MLB is all in order to not look like cheapasses for not signing their first round pick?

I thought the same thing as I saw Byrd's HR hit the grass.

Fifth.

I think I saw Grubes in the stands with Norm.

Not initially. Maybe starting in June. Keep his innings under control, somewhere around 160 for the year. Full time starter in 2011.

No, MLB didn't draft for the rangers. I think when the draft happened was right around when the shit was about to hit the fan. I think it's very possible that Hicks and JD knew the financial stuationaI was dire and took advantage of the rule that said they'll get a pick back. So, they targeted a guy that they knew was not gonna be happy with the money they'd be able to offer. That way they push the salary off til next year and get credit for trying. I don't think it's a bad move. It's shady as all fuck but it really isn't a bad move. It's like trading your one this year for a one next year. The value is gonna be around the same either way. It's a very Tom Hicks move.

I think the MLB situation was fortuitous and irrelevant. The rangers weren't gonna offer anymore than they actually did and they didn't need MLB to tell them so. But MLB did, and incidentally the rangers asses are covered. And I think they only offered 4 millions because the MLB had capped them at 2.3.

But keep in mind, I despise tom hicks. The only reason I'm remotely interested in the rangers this year is because he's on his way out. Still isn't enough for me to tune in. But I'm paying attention for the first time since Chan Ho.

Tough series in Tampa. Blalock is not good at pickoff throws. Davis is getting called back up Monday. He was hotting .321 at AAA. Let's hope Rudy doesn't break him again.

Boot Jones sounds like some dude who might've played off the bench for the Hawks back in the 70s.

Corby is the ultimate baseball dumbass. Using his logic, Kansas City can spend just as much money as the Yankees.

He shouldn't be allowed to talk during baseball segments. Dumbass.
