Per Ken Rosenthal, the Rangers made a final offer of Olt, Leury or Garcia, Buckel or Perez + a 4th prospect for Justin Upton. That's a pretty fair deal. Arizona doesn't have to trade Upton, but they've probably pissed him off enough by now that they might as well.

Rangers also avoided arbitration with David Murphy. The last player they went to arbitration with was Lee Stevens.

Dan Haren 1/10 to the Dodgers seems like a really good signing. I'm not sure what the budget for Texas is this year, so I don't know if they could have fit him in, but that seems like a high reward/low risk investment for 1 year.

I'd rather have Choo than Haren if it's either/or, no doubt. But his L/R splits scare me a bit. I also don't think the #5 starter is a huge need, but I do like Haren more than most people do. I'm rooting for Colby, but I don't see it.
