I saw a story today that said McGwire called Taylor Hooten's dad and apologized for what happened to Taylor. He was the Plano kid who was told he needed to get bigger to play baseball, took steroids, got depressed, killed himself. I kinda like that McGwire called the dad and did this, but I don't believe much of what he said in his interview.

Today in the 5 minutes that I listened to the noon to 3 show, Dan the dumbass made an offhand reference to Hooten, hinting that he might have killed himself anyway if he hadn't taken steroids. Stuff like this is why I hate Dan McDowell. I'm stupid for attempting to listen to his show.

I don't care if someone admits they used steroids. That doesn't make them a better person and doesn't make everything alright.

As far as the Hall goes, the question about him is whether he belonged in the Hall before taking steroids, and the answer is no. If the fucker wasn't hitting a home run, he was making an out. Aside from his rookie year, he was Steve Balboni until he started on the juice. Fuck him.
