Classic Wash. "Hey we gave him a day off, I can't change the weather", as he puts him at SS for both games of a double header to give Elvis the day off.

Hamilton, Beltre, and Cruz are the scariest 3-4-5 in baseball. My arsehole gets puckered up when they're up in the 9th.

Losing the DH last night was more proof that having 13 pitchers and 12 hitters is STUPID. Back in my day, they went with 14 hitters/11 pitchers or even 15/10. I can accept the 13/12, because starting pitchers are on shorter pitch counts now, which I think is a good thing. But 12/13 is just silly.

I can remember Bobby V. deciding to go 15/10 with the Rangers.

Gentry makes a mistake throwing home and Olt makes an error leading to the 5th run of the inning for NYY. They'll never see the field again.

The Blowhard and the Yenta were wondering why Wash doesn't play Gentry more. This had nothing to do with his mistake. The guy hits, he should play.

I don't know who they are, but if they're Yankee people, we don't need them telling us who needs to play.

Mike Young SUCKS in the infield - almost blew that bottom of the 7th singlehandedly. But he's 2-4 with a walk and 2 runs today, so he'll play for another 50 straight games.

Of course. You wouldn't want advice from a team who's actually WON a World Series.

When Joe Torre says it, I'll listen. And it's not like the last 8 pages haven't been about playing Gentry more. The fact that "the blowhard and the yetti" say it doesn't mean anything.

I'm just saying the other side agrees with you guys. Though they haven't said shit about Mike Young yet.

Man, Rangers fans are sensitive.

Couldn't watch the game today and couldn't listen until the 8th. Why in the hell did Oswalt come out of the game so early?

Wash said he thought he was gassed.

I don't think he was. He was pitching great. My guess is Wash was trying to prove a point since he couldn't go the third inning out of the pen a few weeks back. I mean 1 out before he's eligible for the win? He had 62 pitches. Wash would never admit that though and it's pure speculation on my part.

I wasn't questioning Wash or even criticizing him for it. I wouldn't have done it, because it almost assured the use of Kirkman in a 1 run game, but it's not like Oswalt has been fantastic this year either.

Good game by Young today. Should put him well above Francouer for 2nd worst player in the Majors.

Wash set to announce Young to start at third for the remainder of the season.

After the pitch behind Josh that got Diamond thrown out, Anthony Andro tweeted:

Am I the only one surprised Hamilton didn't swing at the pitch?

Wash got his 500th win last night. It is shocking how many people think that the Rangers win in spite of the guy.

I was not in favor of hiring him; I wanted Trey Hillman. But look how it turned out. Can we not give the poor man a little of the credit? Fuck!

Little Hoob was all excited when they came here (I was 13) and they never were worth a Tinker's damn the entire time. Year after year of crappy baseball. So many managers who failed. How many teams had a manager who lasted one motherfucking day? The Rangers did.

Sure, there are all sorts of other things that happened that contributed to their recent success. Jon Daniels. Nolan. The actual owners with the money. And luck. Lots of luck.

But to not give Wash some credit for what has happened is wrong.

As far as I can remember, nobody on RR is guilty of this. So, stay hard, Wash.

Wash gets plenty of credit from me. I don't think he puts the best lineup out there, but he's had plenty of hand in turning this thing around.

I'm trying to prepare myself for the inevitable Elvis trade, but damn that's gonna be a sad day.

I don't know if I'd describe it as "inevitable", but yeah it's out there and it hurts. I'd rather trade Profar. He has more power, but Elvis is already proven and is a much better defensive player. I guess if you're into the $$ thing, Elvis only has 2 more years while Profar is under Texas control for 6 years after he hits the bigs. But at some point, you gotta pay your guys and the controllable years would be a plus for someone like TB anyway. I'm so done with "can't miss" prospects. I wonder if people still think Smoak and Beaven was too much to give up for Cliff Lee.
