Perfect for him. Milwaukee is even further off the map than KC.

They had to bring in someone to fill Rich Harden's shoes.

Beltre's overrated. He'll offer more power but less avg than Young. He's great on D, but with Andrus covering half the field, you don't need an awesome 3B. Rangers will regret this signing if he gets the money that's being discussed.

Batting Average is highly overrated. The lifetime difference between the two is like .25. The Rangers will regret nothing.

He should be a good immediate signing, as he is a younger, currently better version of Mike Young, but he won't be worth the money by the end of the deal. One monster year in LA plus another smacking doubles off the Green Monster shouldn't get you $100M.

Fruit and I saw Channel 4's Max Morgan the other night at the bar. No, this is for real. Fruit offered to buy him lunch. The last part was made up.

Meh is right.

When Rhadigan complained about the minor league manager who crawled on his stomach and threw the rosin bag at the home plate ump like a grenade, I was out on him forever.

Uh-oh, Tit.

It appears that Hal has overruled GM Brian Cashman on the signing of Rafael Soriano as a setup man. Cashman said no, Hal made him sign him.

Sooner or later, Rivera isn't going to have it. It could be this year. Soriano is a good insurance policy.

Oh, I've been following that shit. Worst contract in a while. He basically has options for each year, so if he sucks he can pick up his option and get paid to suck, or if he's awesome he can get out and get a closer deal somewhere else. The brass were total shitheads on this one. An awesome bullpen doesn't win you that many games to pay this dude that much money for a setup role.

I laughed at this line from the story:

NOTES: Boras planned to speak with the Yankees about another client, Andruw Jones(notes), about a possible role as a backup outfielder.

That's gonna happen. They've been discussing him for a few weeks now.

Karma can be a bitch sometimes, and old Hoob might be the next victim.

Earlier today I giggled like a schoolgirl when I read that the Yankees had signed Andruw Jones, a player who I've never thought was that great. I was giddy with the thought of him trotting out double plays against the Rangers instead of FOR them for a change.

And then on Baseball Time in Arlington I read this headline: Report: Rangers "Aggressively Pursuing" Manny Ramirez.

What in the motherfucking world. That's what I get for laughing at the Yankees.

I don't mind the Jones signing. He's only slated to be a 4th OF and bench guy. And he can actually play for field which is an upgrade over Marcus Thames.
