He made some decent movies but he never knocked one outta the park. He also made some absolute shit.

He introduced everyone that hadn't seen Dazed and Confused to sweaty Matthew McConaughey in A Time to Kill. There were some oddities to it (ie: the sweatiness of all of the characters), but it was a pretty good adaptation of the book.

He probably peaked with Falling Down, a movie that wouldn't fly real well in today's culture.
