Did you know there's a bunch of brown dudes who play cricket just about every weekend in Wylie? They play at a park about a 5 minute walk from my house. I'd like to go watch them, but as I said they're brown and that frightens me. Most of the time it looks like regular practice but sometimes they have uniforms and shit and play another team.

I did not know that. I work with a group if similarly pigmented people from the sub-continent. There are a number of competitive teams in the area. They have tried to encourage me to join in, but in my heyday of youth I was a pretty shit player, I doubt the years and growth in waistline would make me much better.

We should get a forum team together. Who's in?

Joey Feek has died

Most of you are saying "Who?" and I said that too when she started showing up on lists last year in another game I play. She's a country singer who performed with her husband in the duo Rory + Joey. She had cervical cancer and she was only 40 which makes her an awesome pick. Many were thinking she wouldn't make it to 2016 but she did. Since she wasn't a major celebrity, I had to go hunt down news on her and found her husband's blog that he was keeping while they went thru this together. It's sad stuff. I honestly feel for both of them and their 2-year-old daughter (who btw has Down's Syndrome) and for the first time I feel kinda shitty about a pick. My advice to everyone is: Don't get too close to your picks. When you develop feelings for these people, your game can only suffer. Be an asshole. Shut down your heart. Let them be nothing more than names and point values. It makes for a stronger game. Thank you.
