Last night i did battle with 505 Southwestern flame roasted green chiles from Costco. It was probably the second hardest jar I've ever opened in my entire life. A lesser man might have given up. Top prize was a product also from Costco, a jar of artichoke hearts marinated in water I wrestled with last summer. I can't remember the brand name and for that I am deeply sorry, but i do remember going multiple rounds with that jar. Almost gave up. Can you describe a time when a brand that was packed in a jar gave you fits to open? What were your jar opening techniques? Sometimes i tap the top against a counter, but I don't know if it helps.

Use your non-dominant hand. Good for twisting things off in the kitchen and the bedroom.

Do other forums still exist? I figured everyone was on FB and reddit now.

Reading the Ticket Reddit page makes me think about the early days of this forum. Those seat sniffers make me ashamed of myself for a lot of what I said back in the day.

Except for the time I told some guy that he was batting .075 on good posts. I'm not ashamed of that one. I don't remember who I aimed it at, either.

Remember the usenet group? Ah, the good ol' days.

Oddly, a few months ago my younger brother told me he still uses usenet. I think he has an Easynews subscription.

I usually hand it to my wife. Shamefully she can usually do it.

I'm not sure how they would enforce it, but i just know those mods like bad kitty and psc would have a mask mandate before logging on.

I always remember this gem from Hoob about a half dozen posts in to Paul's Katrina thread:

"I feel sorry for the Thibideouxs and the Heberts."

I dropped it on Mrs. bigboy yesterday while we were watching coverage and got the strangest look.

My daily commute is an hour, usually 5:50 to 6:50 in the morning. Holy cow does morning radio suck balls and I can't take it any more.

So I re-subscribed to SiriusXM just now. I sat in the car for five minutes and listened to the presets that I had before and I was immediately glad I did it.

We had Monday off, and one of my co-workers took me fishing. I hadn't fished in about 20 years. A fishing license was something like $30.

I caught 8 crappie, 6 were keepers. He said things were slow and people usually caught more fish than that. I was perfectly happy with it.

It was fun.

Keep us up to date on the physical therapy aspects of it. A few years ago, the father-in-law had both of his replaced and at first the stretching and exercising he had to were painful enough to induce tears. He's often not that emotional, so it must've hurt like a mug.

My first therapy was today in the hospital room and it totally kicked my ass. There were six exercises.

But I would rather talk about the occupational therapist. She was cute, maybe 30 years old. Her job was to make sure I could dress and take care of myself. This meant making sure I could deal with the shower.

So, I had to take a shower while she kept an eye on me. She said she would allow me a little bit of modesty. So I kept my back to her as much as possible.

And yes it did occur to me, what would happen if I developed a raging boner?

‐------------------

I woke up from surgery and my worst nightmare was there. My ex-wife and my last girlfriend were both sitting in my room. I thought nothing happened, but the occupational therapist said the employees were laughing because I called the girlfriend my wife while I was under the influence of drugs.

Dammit to hell.

I am home from the surgery center and then a 2 day stay at a friend's house. The ex took me home and I am here. I am a few days early but I'm showing good progress. I consider this really odd because I'm extremely unathletic. Extremely.

Right now the main thing is to do my exercises three times a day and not cheat on them at all.

I am constipated. There was some disagreement over what I should take for that and I refused to take the harsh stuff that the ex stubbornly bought me. I had a friend bring something else and I'll eventually get back to normal.

I am up early because I have early therapy today. This will be my third session at home. The first two were mostly the same stuff I've been working on at home but the therapist makes sure I'm doing them correctly. They've also added a couple of exercises.

It's really important to do this crap at home on my own.

Tons of people were urging me to get rest and that's not the answer here.

I really think the key to getting better is, don't sit on your ass. I got rid of the walkers a couple of days ago.

Further proof that most of your posts read like the intro to a great Penthouse Forum letter.

I just now tried to ride my little Trek and couldn't do it. The normal upstroke that one does when riding a bike isn't possible yet because my knee is so tight. But I'm getting closer.

Really sick of not being able to do stuff.

A couple of days ago I'm covering a basketball game for the paper and a physical therapist that I've known for years sees me. HOOB! What are you doing here? Get your ass home and put some ice on your knee.

-------------------------------------

Yesterday I had the original bandage removed and they thought the incision looked good. I guess they use superglue or somesuch on the incision. I'm kind of worried because there is no bandage on it now and infection is a regular issue with this sort of thing.

I'm finally cleared to drive.

I don't see how I'm ever going to be healed from this but they tell me I will be.

First outpatient therapy was today and they had me in tears and it pissed me off to get hurt that badly.

Tonight the ex told me to STFU and deal with it. It's part of therapy, she said. Thanks a lot, friend.
