I'm not going out on a limb by stating that Wade is not back next year. They won't fire him, Jerry simply does not choose to renew his contract.
So, that leaves the question: Who do you think the next "coach" will be to come to Dallas to manage all of Jerry's assistants?

The entire proposition makes me tired? :tired:

If the Raiders continue at the pace they've been on for the last 7 years, their 86th win (starting today) will come some time in 2030.

My money is on Gruden. I don't think Cowher will come here, at least while Jerry is alive.

I have a tough time believing any quality coach would agree to come to Dallas... I think they all look at Parcells as proof positive that Jerry is Al Davis incognito.

I think the next coach will be another Wade Phillips, Dave Campo, Chan Gailey, etc.

As I said earlier, the thought makes me tired.

I think Gruden would definitely come here. He's not that proud, and this is still the Dallas Cowboys.

If Jerry would let Cowher work the same way Parcells did then there's a chance he would come here, but I just don't see it.

And by then, the Cowboys may have won a playoff game.

Gruden just signed a multi-year extension with ESPN. He's not going to coach the Cowboys.

Wade will coach the Boys next year. With a lockout looming after next season, Jerreh will not sign a high profile coach to a multi year contract with no team to coach.

Ya, but there's nothing in the contract to let him out to coach? I doubt that.

Gruden is not going to coach the Cowboys. I'm not sure why you think Cowher would coach the Cowboys, but Gruden would. Wade will be the coach next year. Garrett will take the fall.

Okay, then Garrett will be. One will be thrown on the sword, the other will stick around. Jerry won't hire a coach that might draw more love than him.

I can definitely see that happening, although my gut says Garrett will find a job somewhere else before Jerry fires him.

Mike Zimmer might be a good option for Jerry. He's a good guy and he still lives here in Dallas I believe. He's worked under Jerry before so he's gonna know what to expect. He might take the job if offered. Then we can get rid of this 3-4 crap. Hell maybe he'll even bust out a line like "WE GOTTA JOB TO DO AND WE GONNA DO IT BABY !!!" at his press conference just for kicks. :dunno:

If you fire Wade, you kind of almost have to fire Garrett. (Has he proven he's ready to move up? Hell, has he proven he could keep his job as OC?)
If you keep Wade, and fire Garrett, the D is intact, Jerry buys time for Romo (who he's invested in, as well as Roy Williams).
Look for Jerry to get a new offensive coordinator in here. (Kubiak may be fired at the end of the year; he could be the choice)

Post subject:  Re: Who Will Be the Newest Cowboy Coach?

I don't think either one is here next year. Wade will be fired shortly after the season ends. Jerry will not officially fire Garret, but he will allow teams to talk to him about coordinator jobs. I don't think any team will be courting him as a head coach, unless it's a team like Detroit that won't be playing for anything anyway.

Proven ability hasn't always been big on Jerry's list of prerequisites. Wade, Campo, Gailey.
