I'll take the old Ben and Skin over the "Soroi show", but the new skinny Ben is so full of himself, I can't take it. Skin is still ok though.

This is how I knew Bob and Dan threatening to leave was bullshit. If they leave the Ticket they'll disappear like all the others. Same with Mike and Corby. It was just a ploy to drive their value up. In the end Cumulus didn't match CBS because they knew they didn't have to.

I agree it was a ploy to drive their value up. No question they want to stay at the Ticket and would likely take less to stay there. However, I think you're underestimating how many people would follow them. Ben and Skin never had a full time show on the Ticket. They had a small cult following. BaD has a huge audience. What would be the other options from 12-3? Black and Quack? Sirois Show? Shake Joint? Meh. I'd have listened to BaD had they gone to the Fan. Not the Hardline, but I don't know how anyone listens to that anymore anyway.

I agree they would get more listeners than B&S, especially at first. But listeners are lazy. After a short spike BaD's numbers would drop to embarrassing levels and their contract wouldn't be renewed. Most of the listeners would go back to the Ticket to listen to the Musers and put up with whatever until the Hardline comes on.

I would switch and listen to Bob and Dan over any remaining ticket show. Switching over the Musers would suck but I was actually hoping they would to 105.3 during drive time so I wouldn't have to listen to that idiot Corby anymore.

Ben and Skin are out at the Fan. It has been said they were not fired.

They had recently changed time slots and were no longer in drive time.

I tried and tried to like them and I just never could.

Here's the story on DMN

I heard them plenty when they were on the Ticket. I thought Skin was okay but Ben always seemed out of place. I don't listen to other stations so I don't know if they ever got any better. Somehow I doubt it.

It sounds like they might be moving to another station (back to ESPN, maybe?) or maybe try to do a syndicated show. They've got deep ties here so I doubt that they'd physically move to a different market.

I hope Skin finds his way back to the Ticket in some capacity for some Mavvy insight. Maybe he could host the after game show with Followill.

Yes, but he is 1000x better than Harper.

I tried too, hoob. I was pumped for them to get afternoon drive, but I probably listened 3 times.

Agree with gam that Ben is the worst.

It's not his homerism, it's that he adds zero insight to the broadcast. A bunch of generic, repeated cliches does not make you a good broadcaster.

The other day he said "I haven't seen a hook shot like that since yours truly, Lou Alcindor." He doesn't know when to use phrases. He just hears stuff in every day life and throws it out there whenever it sounds right to him.

At least be funny if you don't have anything smart to say. Skin is pretty funny.

Him being a former Mavvy great is the only reason I don't hate him.
