While I support the police in their role in preventing anarchy in the streets I will admit that I feel there is absolutely no upside to having any voluntary interaction with them. I think the majority of officers have good intentions, but if one runs into "Officer Difficult" you are pretty much at their whim.

Your word vs. the police will rarely work to your advantage. Furthermore, those officers with good intentions are not going to dispute "Officer Difficult's" version of your interaction. The police are the largest best organized gang in any city.

:babyarm:

That's what a lot of people don't get. It's true that there are relatively few "bad cops". The problem is the "good cops" won't do anything to get rid of the bad ones. They overlook, ignore and outright lie to cover their "brothers".

That talk about the cops wanting body cameras is new. Every time I've read about cameras being implemented, the cops push back on it pretty hard. But when cops wear cameras, complaints plummet. Read into that what you will. I know there is added expense with adding these cameras but I really think they're worth it.

Again, the majority of cops would welcome the body cam. Whereas Officer Difficult would view a body cam as hampering his style.

I don't think that's correct, Ich. Who wants to be watched and scrutinized while they're doing their job? I've read numerous stories about the police unions pushing back on body cameras.

There are always more than one side to issues. There are some that like it and some that don't. I wouldn't categorize my statement as waaaay off.

How can this be? Cap talked to every policeman in Little Elm and they all told him it was fine.

YouTube has proven time and again that there are many cops who do not like being filmed by the public as they approach someone filming and advise that the crime scene has suddenly grown to 40 acres and they need to move along!

And the times where they forcibly seize the camera and smash it on the ground, destroying the very evidence of that person's "crime" of recording the police.
