Listening to 88 year old Bill Foley on The Musers this morning. Enlisted in the army at 18, quickly trained and shipped off to Europe to be dropped into a foxhole with a rifle while Hitler's finest were doing their level best to end him. At 18, your Unca Ich was a selfish little bitch only concerned about covering rent, my next six pack and getting some tube-topped party girl to give me an old-fashioned! I couldn't have fathomed being shipped off to a foreign land and dropped into the middle of a war. Respect! |
