When I first moved into my apt, I was working at that sign company not making a damn dime. Plus, I didn't have anything worth stealing. Also, Allstate wanted something like $26-28 a month if I remember right and I never looked into it. I live on the second floor for 2 reasons: I don't want to hear people stomping around over my head and it's a much lower risk for shit like this happening. Obviously not immune to it though. My biggest mistake was not keeping the serial numbers written down somewhere, although I honestly thought owner's manual for electronics had the number on a sticker or something. That's how I got my VCR back some 25 years ago the last time this happened. Wifey was pretty shaken last night, but she woke up this morning pissed and wants to replace our television so the terrorists don't win. That's my girl. Biggest upsetting moment for me was when Danielle woke up crying because she had a dream someone stole her V-Smile (game system). I hope the fuckers that stole my shit find themselves in a wood chipper, feet first. |

When my storage got broke into, my renters insurance kicked in. They could only give me 10% of the value or a max of $2500. I got the $2500 (which was probably the value anyway) and I wanted to sell most of the stuff that was in there, so it kind of worked out. The only thing I really wanted to keep in there was my guitar that my grandma gave me and they didn't take it. I was kind of happy they chose mine to break into, because then I didn't have to go through the hassle of selling all that stuff. |
