Suspicious people is a popular topic but I saw more of those on the Dallas Nextdoor. Always led to chippy back and forths. Here it's mostly people trying to sell crap items for dollar amounts that shouldn't be worth the hassle. I did come across this gem from last week though:

"Unfortunately a mama deer was hit by a car and died in the back of North Hampton. She left behind a small spotted baby deer fawn. No other deer are around. The baby deer is hanging out at the back of a friends house looking for food. My friend was able to get it in her back yard and left some carrots and an apple for it but had to get to work. Any ideas on what to do or anyone to call for help? The zoo? A vet? Thanks"

:babyarm: We had to create a separate "for sale" page.

Last night our friends were staying with us and they walked down to the park by the Greek church. It was dark when they went. A man was hiding in the bushes and they yelled that they know he's there. He ran and jumped into a black SUV. About 10 mins later my friends husband went looking for them ( they had went over to the Greek church) and he picked them up. The SUV followed them all over neighborhood as he tried to avert them. Finally they stopped for a few mins and the SUV took off. Just wanted to share.

Actual black people live and own homes in my neighborhood. No one is afraid of them, at least not openly.

The next white flight will be out of Frisco and it won't be because of black people.

My neighborhood's Nextdoor is frequently used to report suspicious wild animals. Every coyote or skunk seen in a 10 mile radius is a Yeti-chupacabra hybrid that is preying on pets, children, the elderly, and joggers.

Nextdoor is the online nail salon for having nothing to do house fraus. Most useless app.

We've met some great people on there and had a blast hanging out with some of them last night. We're also in a neighborhood of like 1500 houses, so it makes any crime seem like it's happening RIGHT NEXT DOOR!!!

You guys ever buy St. Augustine in seed form? The mix seeds i bought from Home Depot are sprouting like hell and I'd love to use St. Augustine. However, they only sell it in sod here which frankly just looks terrible in a yard, IMO.

I've always heard that St Augustine is only sold as sod.

I researched St. Augustine seed years ago when I was having trouble getting Bermuda to take off. Apparently, it's next to impossible to grow. Even sod farmers that grow it for bulk sale grow it from strips and plugs of existing sod.

After 16 and a half years in the same house, the bigboy family is on the move to something more updated and with living spaces that actually have windows and stuff. We're only going about 3 miles, but the thought of purging a decade and a half of accumulated crap is daunting.

Post subject:  Re: Spaz's Blog of Home Ownership

I'm a renter, so home repairs default over to my landlords. A couple of years ago, my gray water sewage stopped up because of tree roots. The landlord ran a new underground gray water pipe and put gravel all around it and then threw dirt on top of the gravel. It was an expensive pain in the ass and I felt sorry for him.

Back in July I was doing laundry and it backed up into the shower, bad. Those poor people are under a ton of stress because of their business so I just figured I'd wait for them to be gone and I'd take care of it myself.

Saturday I got my chance. Ran a snake down there and found a solid blockage not far out into the yard, like I was hitting a rock. Hmmm. Ran a snake with a coiled wire on it and retrieved a piece of that damned gravel. Ran it again and got another one. I guess the water washed out the dirt under the ground and the weight of the gravel caused the pipe to collapse.

No idea what to do here.

For some reason, my little house has turned into wasp nest central. I knocked out one nest yesterday and then two more tonight. Getting buzzed while I was grilling this evening didn't go over very well with this old man.

I waited until after dark so they would all be on their nests and walked out with a flashlight and sprayed they asses.

I never said anything about it. The washing machine died at the same time this happened and I'm not going to replace it. When that happened, the drainage issues stopped.

The kitchen sink drains without a problem.
