I've been phoning night and morning I heard you say "tell him I'm not home" Now you're confessing, But I'm still guessing I've been your fool for so so long Girl don't lie, just to save my feelings Girl don't cry, and tell me nothing's wrong Girl don't try to make up phony reasons I'd rather leave than never believe If this is it, Please let me know If this ain't love you'd better let me know If this is it, I want to know If this ain't love baby, just say so You've been thinking And I've been drinking We both know that it's just not right Now you're pretending That it's not ending You'll say anything to avoid a fight Girl don't lie, and tell me that you need me Girl don't cry, and tell me nothing's wrong I'll be alright one way or another So let me go, or make we want to stay If this is it , Please let me know If this ain't love you'd better let me know If this is it, I want to know If this ain't love baby, just say so |

Do you ever get bastardized versions of songs stuck in your head? Last night my wife goes "you want some tea, mmmm I'm going to have ruby red chai." It automatically cued Rancid and a loop of: Destination unknown ruby ruby ruby ruby red chai |

I don't bastardize so much, but a single phrase can be like a hair trigger for releasing a song into my head. It makes me hate people sometimes. |

About a month ago, the gauchos started a wonderful line dance class at the neighborhood rec center on Saturday nights as a wholesome alternative to the smoke filled atriums of seedy bingo halls. anywho, they play the catchiest tunes! Last night, we kicked our heels to a song titled "Achy Breaky Heart". Here's a fun betcha didn't know: were y'all aware that Billy Ray Cyrus sings this and is Miley Ray Cyrus' pop? Musical talent runs rampant in that family. Here's an awesome verse from "Achy Breaky Heart" But don't tell my heart, my achy breaky heart I just don't think it'd understand And if you tell my heart, my achy breaky heart He might blow up and kill this man Ooo Here's a pic of Billy & Miley |

Oh I can't take another heartache Though you say you're my friend, I'm at my wit's end You say your love is bonafide, but that don't coincide With the things that you do And when I ask you to be nice, you say [Chorus] You've gotta be cruel to be kind, in the right measure Cruel to be kind, it's a very good sign Cruel to be kind, means that I love you baby (You've gotta be cruel) You gotta be cruel to be kind Well I do my best to understand dear But you still mystify and I want to know why I pick myself up off the ground To have you knock me back down again and again And when I ask you to explain, you say [Chorus] Well I do my best to understand dear But you still mystify and I want to know why I pick myself up off the ground To have you knock me back down again and again And when I ask you to explain, you say |

"Puff, the Magic Dragon"--This is a great song. I recently put it on my ipod. If you've never heard it before, it's an intriguing tale of adventure between a young boy and a dragon in a land called hah-nah-lee. |

I don't care about your karma I don't care about what's hip No space cadet's gonna tell me what to do I won't swim in your jacuzzi You can't make me settle down I'd rather kick and jump and bite and scratch And scream until I'm blue I may as well be hyper as long as I'm still around 'Cause I'll have lots of time to be laid back When I'm six feet underground. I'll be mellow when I'm dead (I'll be mellow when I'm dead) I'll be mellow when I'm dead (I'll be mellow when I'm dead) I'll be mellow when I'm dead I'll be mellow when I'm dead (I'll be mellow when I'm dead) I'll be mellow when I'm dead (I'll be mellow when I'm dead) I'll be mellow when I'm dead When are you cosmic cowboys gonna get it through your heads I'll be mellow when I'm dead I'll be mellow when I'm dead I'll be mellow when I'm dead I can't stand the smell of incense I don't really like to jog No Joni Mitchell 8-tracks in my car (oooh) I hate anything organic Even health food makes me sick You won't catch me sipping Perrier Down in some sushi bar, I tell you Now's the time to go for all the gusto you can grab You'll have plenty of time to be low-key When you're laid out on the slab I'll be mellow when I'm dead (I'll be mellow when I'm dead) I'll be mellow when I'm dead (I'll be mellow when I'm dead) I'll be mellow when I'm dead I'll be mellow when I'm dead (I'll be mellow when I'm dead) I'll be mellow when I'm dead (I'll be mellow when I'm dead) I'll be mellow when I'm dead When are you cosmic cowboys gonna get it through your heads I'll be mellow when I'm dead I'll be mellow when I'm dead I'll be mellow when I'm dead Ow! Bobcat! I don't want no part of that vegetarian scene I won't buy me a pair of designer jeans No redwood hot tub to my name I got all that I want and if it's all the same to you I don't need a course in self-awareness To find out who I am And I'd rather have a Big Mac or a Jumbo Jack Than all the bean sprouts in Japan. Wow!!!! Ah so don't ask me what I'm into I don't need to prove I'm cool I'll break your arm if you ask me what's my sign I won't tell you where my head's at I don't need to see no shrink Psychosis may be in this year but I'm really not that kind And I'm in no hurry to be casual In fact I think I'll wait Until I'm pushing up the daisies Like wow, man, can you relate? I'll be mellow when I'm dead I'll be mellow when I'm dead I'll be mellow when I'm dead (mellow when I'm dead) I'll be mellow when I'm dead I'll be mellow when I'm dead I'll be mellow when I'm dead (mellow when I'm dead) I'll be mellow when I'm dead I'll be mellow when I'm dead .....wooooowww! |

There's a turkey in the barnyard, big and proud and fat. There's a turkey in the barnyard, he's gobbling this and that. Look at how he shows his feathers, see his stately pace. Putting two and two together, he thinks he owns the place. The turkey's gotta go, the turkey's gotta go, that puffed up piece of poultry's gotta go. Gonna find my baby, gonna hold her tight Gonna grab some afternoon delight My motto's always been 'when it's right, it's right' Why wait until the middle of a cold dark night? When everything's a little clearer in the light of day And we know the night is always gonna be there any way Thinkin' of you's workin' up my appetite Looking forward to a little afternoon delight Rubbin' sticks and stones together makes the sparks ingite And the thought of lovin' you is getting so exciting Sky rockets in flight Afternoon delight Afternoon delight Afternoon delight Started out this morning feeling so polite I always though a fish could not be caught who wouldn't bite But you've got some bait a waitin' and I think I might try nibbling A little afternoon delight Sky rockets in flight Afternoon delight Afternoon delight Afternoon delight Please be waiting for me, baby, when I come around We could make a lot of lovin' 'for the sun goes down Thinkin' of you's workin' up my appetite Looking forward to a little afternoon delight Rubbin' sticks and stones together makes the sparks ingite And the thought of lovin' you is getting so exciting Sky rockets in flight Afternoon delight Afternoon delight Afternoon delight Afternoon delight! |

Dreamed I was an Eskimo (Bop-bop ta-da-da bop-bop Ta-da-da) Frozen wind began to blow (Bop-bop ta-da-da bop-bop Ta-da-da) Under my boots 'n around my toe (Bop-bop ta-da-da bop-bop Ta-da-da) Frost had bit the ground below (Boop-boop aiee-ay-ah!) Was a hundred degrees below zero (Booh!) (Bop-bop ta-da-da bop-bop Ta-da-da) And my momma cried: Boo-a-hoo hoo-ooo And my momma cried: Nanook-a, no no (no no . . . ) Nanook-a, no no (no no . . . ) Don't be a naughty Eskimo-wo-oh (Bop-bop ta-da-da bop-bop Ta-da-da) Save your money: don't go to the show Well I turned around an' I said: HO HO (Booh!) Well I turned around an' I said: HO HO (Booh!) Well I turned around an' I said: HO HO An' the Northern Lites commenced t' glow An' she said (Bop-bop ta-da-da bop . . . ) With a tear in her eye: WATCH OUT WHERE THE HUSKIES GO AN' DON'T YOU EAT THAT YELLOW SNOW WATCH OUT WHERE THE HUSKIES GO AN' DON'T YOU EAT THAT YELLOW SNOW |

Last night as I got home about a half past ten There was the woman I thought I knew In the arms of another man I kept my cool, I ain't no fool Let me tell you what happened then I packed some clothes and I walked out And I ain't going back again So take a letter Maria, address it to my wife Say I won't be coming home, gonna start a new life So take a letter Maria, address it to my wife Send a copy to my lawyer, gotta start a new life You've been many things but most of all a good secretary to me And it's times like this I feel you've always been close to me Was I wrong to work nights to try to build a good life All work and no play has just cost me a wife When a man loves a woman it's hard to understand That she would find more pleasure in the arms of another man I never really noticed how sweet you are to me It just so happens I'm free tonight Would you like to have dinner with me So take a letter Maria, address it to my wife Send a copy to my lawyer, gotta start a new life |

Well I woke up this morning The place was such a wreck I couldn't reach the bathroom Thought I'd better clear the deck. I tried to call the lawyer And ask him what to do He referred me to his doctor Who referred me back to you And when you checked the manual You kept in side the case It said 'put it in a cool dry place' I drove around the city Looking for a room That was high above the water Where my things could be in tune There was no one to help me Nobody even cared I had to got through hell To get those things up there I paid my first subscription Then I joined the idle race and they said 'Store it in a cool dry place' I got guitar, basses, amplifiers and drums Accordions and Mandolins and things that sometimes hum Cymbals and Harmonicas, capos by the score And lots of things in boxes laying all around the floor Some places they get mildew And others get too hot. Some places are so damp that Everything you got just rots All kinds of condensation Directories of the rain There's not much compensation When everything's been stained. Some have sentimental value that Cannot be erased Go store it in a cool dry place We got solids and acoustics And some from flowered board And some are trimmed in leather And some are made with gourds There's organs and trombones And reverbs we can use Lots of dx-7s And old athletic shoes I bought a great big building It took up one whole block I made an inventory Of all the things in stock The place was getting longer I was up all night I used up all my pencils But I went on to spite The blurry of my vision The sweat upon my face I've got to put this stuff away I mustn't leave a trace The landlord's breathing down my neck He say's it's a disgrace So i said "put it in a cool, dry, place." |
