I had 2 pieces of toast this morning. yes, I buttered and jellied them. (raspberry preserves)

I like bread and butter,
I like toast and jam,
That's what my baby feeds me,
I'm her loving man.

He likes bread and butter,
He likes toast and jam,
That's what his baby feeds him,
He's her loving man.

She don't cook mashed potatoes,
She don't cook T-bone steaks,
Don't feed me peanut butter,
She knows that I can't take.

He likes bread and butter,
He likes toast and jam,
That's what his baby feeds him,
He's her loving man.

Got home early one morning,
Much to my surprise,
She was eating chicken and dumplings
With some other guy.

No more bread and butter,
No more toast and jam,
I found my baby eating
With some other man.

Who's peekin' out from under a stairway
Calling a name that's lighter than air
Who's bending down to give me a rainbow
Everyone knows it's Windy

Who's tripping down the streets of the city
Smilin' at everybody she sees
Who's reachin' out to capture a moment
Everyone knows it's Windy

And Windy has stor-my eyes
That flash at the sound of lies
And Windy has wings to fly
Above the clouds (above the clouds)
Above the clouds (above the clouds)

And Windy has stor-my eyes
That flash at the sound of lies
And Windy has wings to fly
Above the clouds (above the clouds)
Above the clouds (above the clouds)

Who's tripping down the streets of the city

Everyone knows it's Windy

No, probably because the singer never thought of doing it. He loved falsetto stuff like that guy does. I had no idea it was a 1964 song, I figured late 50s.

We had a category of songs called, "NDNC," which stood for no dance, no clap. Some songs that we really liked fell into that category because they didn't have a dance beat, or we sounded awful playing them, or both.

Oh, oh, oh, ice cold milk and an Oreo cookie. They forever go together. What a classic combination when a dark, delicious cookie meets an icy cold sensation, like the one and only creamy, crunchy, chocolate, O-R-E-O

Somebody's knockin', should I let him in
Lord it's the devil would you look at him
I've heard about him but I never dreamed
He'd have blue eyes and blue jeans

Well somebody's talkin', he's whispering to me
Your place or my place well, which will it be
I'm gittin' weaker and he's comin' on strong
But I don't wanna go wrong

He must have tapped my telephone line
He must have known, I'm spendin' my time
Alone he says we'll have one heavenly night
My fever's burnin' so he ought be right at home

Somebody's knockin', should I let him in
Lord, it's the devil would you look at him
I've heard about him but I never dreamed
He'd have blue eyes and blue jeans

He must have tapped my telephone line
He must have known, I'm spendin' my time
Alone he says we'll have one heavenly night
My fever's burnin' so he ought be right at home

Somebody's knockin'
(Somebody's knockin')
Oh, somebody's knockin'

Yummy
Yummy
Yummy
I got love in my tummy

And I feel like a lovin' you;
The Love
You're such a sweet thing

Good enough to eat thing
And that's just a what I'm gonna do.

Ooh love
To hold ya

Ooh love
To kiss ya

Ooh love
I love it so.
Ooh love
You're sweeter

Sweeter than sugar

Ooh love
I wont let you go.

Yummy
Yummy
Yummy
I got love in my tummy

And as silly as it may seem;
The lovin' that you're givin'

Is what keeps livin'
And your love is like peaches and cream.

Kind a like sugar

Kind a like spices

Kind a like
Like what you do.
Kind a sounds funny

But love
Honey

Honey I love you.

Ba da
Ba da da da da.
Ba da da da da

Ba da da da.

Yummy
Yummy
Yummy
I got love in my tummy

That your love can satisfy:
The Love
You're such a sweet thing

Good enough to eat thing

And sweet thing
That ain't no lie.

Ooh love
To hold ya

Ooh love
To kiss ya

Ooh love
I love it so.
Ooh love
You're sweeter

Sweeter than sugar

Ooh love
I wont let you go.

Ba da
Ba da da da da

You thought I wasn't lonely
'Til I went out on my own
She said, slow down stranger,
There are two kinds of good

Thought I always had to win
Or I wasn't anything
Guess it's a point of view

Born in December but there's nothing but a cold
Gain it something more than..
In my heart it's a hope

Thought I always had to win
Or I wasn't anything
Guess it's a point of view

And I know it's hard to be alone
Count the days, count the nights, but don't get by
Cause I know it's hard to be alone
Count the days, count the nights, but don't get by

Safety came in numbers, but all I needed was just one
You're a four-leaf clover
You're an only kind of one

Thought I always had to win
Or I wasn't anything
Guess it's a point of view

And I know it's hard to be alone
Count the days, count the nights, but don't get by
Cause I know it's hard to be alone
Count the days, count the nights, I don't get by

And I ain't hanging onto you

Her name was Lola, she was a showgirl
With yellow feathers in her hair and a dress cut down to there
She would meringue and do the cha-cha
And while she tried to be a star, Tony always tended bar
Across a crowded floor, they worked from 8 till 4
They were young and they had each other
Who could ask for more?

At the Copa (Copa!), Copacabana (Copacabana)
The hottest spot north of Havana (here)
At the Copa (Copa!), Copacabana
Music and passion were always the fashion
At the Copa, they fell in love

(Copa Copacabana)

His name was Rico, he wore a diamond
He was escorted to his chair, he saw Lola dancin' there
And when she finished, he called her over
But Rico went a bit too far, Tony sailed across the bar
And then the punches flew and chairs were smashed in two
There was blood and a single gun shot
But just who shot who?

At the Copa (Copa!), Copacabana (Copacabana)
The hottest spot north of Havana (here)
At the Copa (Copa!), Copacabana
Music and passion were always the fashion
At the Copa, she lost her love

(Copa Copacabana)
(Copa Copacabana) (Copacabana, ah, ah, ah, ah)
(Ah, Copa Copacabana)
(Like in Havana, have a banana)
(Music and passion, always in fashion)

Her name is Lola, she was a showgirl
But that was 30 years ago, when they used to have a show
Now it's a disco, but not for Lola
Still in the dress she used to wear, faded feathers in her hair
She sits there so refined, and drinks herself half-blind
She lost her youth and she lost her Tony
Now she's lost her mind!

At the Copa (Copa!), Copacabana (Copacabana)
The hottest spot north of Havana (here)
At the Copa (Copa!), Copacabana
Music and passion were always the fashion
At the Copa,
Don't fall in love (Copa)

Don't fall in love (Copacabana)
(Copacabana)
(Copacabana)

(Copa Copacabana)
(Copacabana)
(Copacabana)
(Copacabana)
(Copacabana)
(Copacabana)
(Copacabana)
(Copacabana)
(Copacabana)

Who's looking good in every way?
No style rookie
You better watch don't mess with me

No moneyman can win my love
It's sweetness that I'm thinking of
We always hang in a Buffalo Stance
We do the dive every time we dance
I'll give you love baby not romance
I'll make a move nothing left to chance
So don't you get fresh with me

We're going on a trip
In our favorite rocket ship
Zooming through the skies
Little Einsteins

Climb aboard
Get ready to explore
There's so much to find
Little Einsteins

We're going on a mission
Start the count down
5, 4, 3, 2, 1
Everyone to Rocket
Rev it up now
Vrooooooooooom

We're going on a trip

We need you
Little Einsteins

That song that goes "shut up and dance with me". It's gay as all get out too.

My kid loves that song. But she listens to some kids bop version that has a female singer and it sounds even more gay. I don't totally dislike it.

Any day now I will hear you say "Goodbye, my love"
And you'll be on your way
Then my wild beautiful bird, you will have flown, oh
Any day now I'll be all alone, whoa

Any day now, when your restless eyes meet someone new
Oh, to my sad surprise
Then the blue shadows will fall all over town, oh
Any day now love will let me down, whoa

Oh my wild beautiful bird, you will have flown, oh
Any day now I'll be all alone

I know I shouldn't want to keep you
If you don't want to stay-ay
Until you go forever
I'll be holding on for dear life
Holding you this way
Begging you to stay

Any day now when the clock strikes, 'Go'
You'll call it off
And then my tears will flow
Then the blue shadows will fall all over town, oh
Any day now love will let me down 'cause you won't be around

Don't fly away, my beautiful bird
Don't, don't fly away.

I'd like to buy the world a home
And furnish it with love
Grow apple trees and honey bees
And snow white turtle doves.

I'd like to teach the world to sing
In perfect harmony
I'd like to buy the world a Coke
And keep it company.
(That's the real thing)

Jayhawks from the early 90's, waiting for the sun:

I was waiting for the sun
Then I walked on home alone
What I didn't know
Was he was waiting for you to fall
So, I never made amends
For the sake of no one else
And for the simple reason
That he was waiting for you to fall
It was not lost on me
It was not lost on me
Walkin' on down the road
Looking for a friend to handout
Somethin' might ease my soul
So I kept my spirits high
Entertaining passers-by
Wrapped in my confusion
While he was waiting for you to fall
It was not lost on me
It was not lost on me
Walkin' on down the road
Looking for a friend to handout
Somethin' might ease my soul
It was not lost on me
It was not lost on me
Walkin' on down the road
Walkin' on down the road
Walkin' on down the road
Walkin' on down the road
