Nothing wrong with Joni. Listened to Blue and while it ain't my cup o' meat, she's a good songwriter with a terrific voice. However, I do have to deduct a few points for influencing Jewel.

Was she the one who gave that Baezy touchy feely AIDS speech at the end of that No Alternative album just before the Nirvana song?

I think I got to the 600s before quitting. I hit a spot where the downloaded versions were all fucked up and unlistenable. It wasn't worth the work to go find other copies. As far as quitting posting about it, it wasn't so much Terd as it was me realizing I didn't have much to say.

I'm sure you're all relieved now.

I'm finding I don't remember much about a lot of these as I reflect back for capsule reviews. I may have enjoyed Santana, for instance, but I didn't keep it in rotation and it's now completely out of mind.

208. Marvin Gaye – What’s Going On: Marvin got topical and released a landmark.
209. Yes – Yes Album: I found one of these Yes albums tolerable, and I think this is the one.

215. The Rolling Stones – Sticky Fingers: My favorite Stones album
216. John Lennon – Imagine: This album is good too.

220. Can – Tago Mago: They influenced a lot of bands I like, but I had trouble getting through this.
221. Elton John – Madman Across the Water: I liked his 70s output, but I didn't keep this album in the rotation and I think that says a lot.

224. Emerson, Lake & Palmer – Tarkus: That's some seriously goofy cover art.
225. Led Zeppelin – IV: Toss "Battle of Evermore" and the overplayed "Stairway" and you might have the best hard rock album ever.
226. Serge Gainsbourg – Histoire de Melody Nelson: Serge seems like kind of a perv, but this is a terrific little album.
227. Rod Stewart – Every Picture Tells a Story: "Maggie May" is great and almost makes me forgive him for "Love Touch".

189. Babyarm. The song Moondance is a good, though.

Such a great album. I think 3 of those songs were used for closing credits on Sopranos episodes.

228. Emerson, Lake & Palmer – Pictures at an Exhibition: Eat a dick.
229. Leonard Cohen – Songs of Love & Hate: This guy should've been a spy.
230. Joni Mitchell – Blue: There's something here but it requires more than one listen.
231. Funkadelic – Maggot Brain: Eddie Hazel gets all the attention for his solo on the title track, but "Wars of Armageddon" is where the shit's at.
232. Janis Joplin – Pearl: Would she have been any good if she weren't so wheels off?
233. Fela Kuti - With Ginger Baker: Live!: I like Fela, but Ginger Baker is an asshole.
234. The Faces – A Nod is as Good as a Wink… To a Blind Horse: Probably okay but I don't remember.
235. Flamin’ Groovies – Teenage Head: REALLY don't remember.
236. Gene Clark – White Light: This love of the Byrds is getting annoying.
237. John Prine – John Prine (1st Album): I recall it was kinda dull.
238. Harry Nilsson – Nilsson Schmilsson: Strong album from a complete nut.
239. T.Rex – Electric Warrior: If you need a T.Rex album, get a greatest hits.
240. David Bowie – Hunky Dory: "Life on Mars" is the one I like most on here.
241. Randy Newman – Sail Away: One of the greatest smart-asses ever.
242. Deep Purple – Machine Head: Not bad album from a boring band.
243. Big Star – # 1 Record: You should listen to this album if you like good pop-rock.
244. Black Sabbath – Vol 4: 4 Sabbath albums on here might be a bit much, but this one is still pretty good.
245. Steely Dan – Can’t Buy a Thrill: It's not cool to say it, but these guys are pretty cool.
246. Neil Young – Harvest: Country Neil, and it's great.
247. Curtis Mayfield – Superfly: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack: Great 70s soul.

This album came with a poster that contained the lyrics to all the songs. The writing was in cursive, and it was purple of course.

Blackmore is lauded for his guitar work, but Jon Lord's work on keys is what gives me a boner.

I should elaborate I guess and say that Deep Purple never did anything for me. Machine Head is a pretty good album, but I've always thought of them as dinosaur music: big, slow, lumbering, and dumb. Grunge was about the same for me, too (at least the heavier stuff.) It's just not a sound I like.

248. Slade – Slayed?: Always wanted to check these guys out. This was a decent place to start.
249. Deep Purple – Made in Japan: Double album with 7 songs. Fuck off.
250. Yes – Close to the Edge: Only 3 songs here, but at least it's only 37 minutes.
251. Lou Reed – Transformer: Gayest album ever.
252. Hugh Masekela – Home is Where the Music Is: I have no recollection of this whatsoever. Apparently it's jazz.
253. Milton Nascimento & Lo Borges – Clube da Esquina (1972): Don't remember this either, but it's Brazilian so I probably thought it was okay.
254. Todd Rundgren – Something/Anything: Not bad. "Slut" is a great song.
255. Nitty Gritty Dirt Band – Will the Circle Be Unbroken?: Oh, I hated this.
256. Stevie Wonder – Talking Book: Stevie's 70s albums are required listening for all.
257. Stephen Stills – Manassas: Everything CSN ever put out is on this list, but no Ween.
258. T.Rex – The Slider: Fun, but the mystic shit is over the top.
259. David Ackles – American Gothic: Don't remember this either. It's all a blur.
260. The Eagles – Eagles (1st Album): Seriously, man, I hate the fuckin' Eagles.
261. Tim Buckley – Greetings from LA: Good stuff.
262. Nick Drake – Pink Moon: Start here if you feel the urge.
263. Paul Simon – Paul Simon (1972): You love him and you should.
264. Roxy Music – Roxy Music (1st Album): I like their later stuff better.
265. Alice Cooper – School’s Out: Don't know why this scared people back then. Some of it is practically show tunes.
266. The Temptations – All Directions: More funk than what you knew from them in the 60s.
267. David Bowie – Rise & Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars:Takes a bit to kick in, but by the end you're hooked.

The lead singer for Slade looks like Leslie Knope especially in the My oh My video.

He's not an attractive man.

268. War – World is a Ghetto: Better than I thought it'd be.
269. Al Green – Let’s Stay Together: Rev Al = awesome
270. The Rolling Stones – Exile on Main St: Let's all agree, it's the greatest rock album ever.
271. Lynyrd Skynyrd – Pronounced Leh-nerd Skin-nerd: Every overplayed song of theirs is here.
272. The Incredible Bongo Band – Bongo Rock: Sampled a lot by hip-hop artists, but no fun to listen to on its own.
273. David Bowie – Aladdin Sane: I wouldn't have chosen this album.
274. King Crimson – Lark’s Tongues in Aspic: I don't recall.
275. Bob Marley & the Wailers – Catch a Fire: Reggae gets real repetitive to me.
276. Hawkwind – Space Ritual: A guy whose music opinion I don't trust recommended these guys. Pains me to say they're not bad at all.
277. John Cale – Paris 1919: Short, but good.
278. Can – Future Days: Still don't get this.
279. Lou Reed – Berlin: Most depressing album ever, as discussed on The BM Show.
280. Genesis – Selling England by the Pound: About half sounds like "The Ballad of Sir Robin" from Holy Grail.
