gam, when you quit smoking, how long did the cravings take to go away? Our buddy Larry is now a week since his last smoke and though he's not as bad as he was last week, he's still jonesin'. Fucker smoked at least a pack a day.

Cravings never go away completely. They'll get less severe over time. By now the nicotine is out of his system, and it's just the oral fixation he's got to kick. It's very gradual.

I still get cravings every once in a while, usually after dinner when I'm just sitting on the couch watching the tube. And when I gaming. ESPECIALLY when I'm gaming.

Tell Larry I'm pulling for him.

:babyarm: I could have gone for one tonight.

They never go away. You just train yourself to forget about them.

You have done something great.

People don't understand how hard it is to quit. I've known druggies who were able to get off of the worst stuff but they couldn't quit smoking even though they tried.

I'm very happy for you.

Thanks, guys. Yeah it's weird when I get them. They just come out of the blue but always when I'm idle. Not working for a few months has been a good test. If I haven't broken down by now I'm not going to (not that there was ever a chance).
