No, not trying to kick a smack addiction...I started the George DeJohn detox program yesterday.

Basically, you go 21 days eating all sorts of organic shit, take lots of supplements and protein shakes, exercise, and voila! You lose weight.

I'm sure I could just accomplish this by cutting down on the yum-yums and exercising regularly, but I've tried that and always quit at some point. I feel pretty good about this, and have been projected to lose about 20 pounds...but gain muscle and such in the process so it will look like I lost more.

The nice thing is that the program will end on July 6, just before my 21st birthday on the 8th. So the next time I see you guys at a GNO or dunch, you should see an even sexier Grubes!

I'll update you guys along the way, which should be exciting as hell!

Halfway through day 4 and already feeling pretty good. Have lost about 5 pounds, though I still have a ways to go before it becomes more noticeable.

I've been working out in the morning and then getting on the stationary bike for 15 minutes at night (the point is to get a sweat going again at night, not a full-blown 2-a-day workout). I'm starting to kinda like green beans for brunch and really liking sweet potatoes w/organic butter for dinner.

I = kicking ass and taking names.

Fruit: Nope. It sucks, but I've been killing my body for the last 3 years, so 21 days to (hopefully) get in shape is a sacrifice I'm willing to make.

I'm pulling for you Grubes. I have a question though about the program: After the detoxification stage, you can drink beer and stuff again right? If one goes back to all the yum yums and beer, won't one just eventually look like the way this did originally?

If you answer is no, does this mean you have to stay away from the tasty yums yums and beer for good?

If so, screw this program. I'm happy with myself.

Detox is supposed to be a lifestyle change, but you can have alcohol and yum-yums as long as you work off those calories afterwards.

Detox is really supposed to just purify your system...the weight loss is a "happy side effect." The 21 day program supposedly eliminates all the toxins you've accumulated and therefore eliminates body fat as well. And you can always do it again later if you do go overboard with yum-yums and beer.

Grubes do you take ALL the supplements he has listed on his website? I was specifically wondering about the one called Gymnema or something like that...the one that's supposed to cut down on carbohydrate cravings. I am trying to find someone that has actually taken that to see if it worked...I have many diabetic patients that might benefit from that if it works.

That's the only thing I haven't bought yet, although I'm planning to get that later today. Whether it actually works or not, I don't know.

Go Grubes Go!!!

My rule - burn as many calories as you consume in beer for the day, eat when you are hungry and stop when you feel full and you'll be just like NewPrez '06 in no time!!

Let me know if it works. I would just try it on myself but I don't really crave carbs...mine is more a bratwurst craving IYKWIM.

It's working pretty well after 3 "doses"...not really craving yum-yums at all, which might be a first in my life.

And I know what you mean...real hard!

Nearing the end of the 6th day and down 7 pounds now. Face is thinning out, man-boobs a little smaller (B-cup, here I come!), feeling MUCH better.

Now doing the treadmill for half an hour in the morning and again at night...also in the morning, I do push-ups, body planks (fucking ass-kicker), and body squats- all to the point I can't do any more. Soreness = much better feeling than constantly tired.

All in all, things are progressing well, and I'm looking about 29 years old now. :)
