You're really just going to see Petty Theft, right?

Ok seriously, is Petty Theft playing this fucking thing? Because I might not go if so.

They won't be in the same room. I think the King Bucks are playing too, btw.

So the Lips will be in the room with a couple thousand people and Petty Theft will be in the room with about 20? Gotcha. And WTF is the King Bucks?

From what I hear they won't be playing at the same time, so when the Flaming Lips start you will have a room full of people that like music because it is music and a bunch of drunk P1s in a state of hoobie goobie after seeing their idols on stage. Most likely a few will hold lighters high in the air demanding the Lips play "Sweet Hardline!!!!" while the music folk will be tripping on the latest batch of shrooms screaming "play Do You Realize!!!!"

At the end of the night they'll take turns puking on each others Chuck Taylors and pass out in a puddle of their own piss.

Jesus. I just wanna pass on the whole thing now, but I can't because the wife needs her Flaming Lips fix. Did I mention we've seen them live more than a dozen times?

That really dramatic Mumford and Sons tune that's getting a lot of play is a real beating to have stuck in the head. Irish folk is too Lucky Charmsy.

Dear Mr. Tit R. Whistle,

How the hell did Dave Grohl get stuck behind Cobain? He should have been fronting his own band from the get go.

In all seriousness, he's a phenomenal drummer. If you need proof, listen to the track "Warsaw" from Them Crooked Vultures. He slowly increases the tempo during the bridge for about 2-3 minutes which I imagine is hard as fuck to do. Cobain knew Grohl played guitar and actually thought Grohl was a better player than him. He's a super-talented musician. Nirvana was just his entry portal into the music world.

Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit are coming to the Belmont Hotel in Dallas on June 2.

Has anybody ever been to the Belmont to see a show? Apparently they have an outdoor venue set up. I'm thinking about taking Ich Jr and was wondering about wheelchair access.

For those of you who don't know Jason used to play with The Drive-By Truckers.

Never been there but I can't imagine any reputable place not having handicapped access.

Author:  Sweet Greggo [ Fri May 06, 2011 10:42 pm ]
Post subject:  Re: Tit Whistle tells you what music to listen to

Sounds like they'll have it on the patio which isn't that wheelchair friendly. There's a stair case to the patio from the Smoke parking lot and I think there are stairs inside the bar area, too. There is a walk on the east side of the patio that may allow access.

I think you're gonna have to give them a call Ich and ask them exactly where in the hotel it is and what the access is like.
