There are very few dramas I find a delight to watch. I savored the time I watched Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul and Fargo season 1.

Among those now sits Amazon's Goliath.

Watching Longmire on Netflix. Basically a Murder She Wrote set in Wyoming, but there are a couple of decent arcs. Longmire is played by Australia's own Robert Taylor, who was one of Agent Smith's sidekicks in The Matrix. It's a bit cheesy but it's not terrible. Seasons are only 10 eps so they go quick. Season 1-3 were on A&E I think and Netflix picked it up for 4-6.

My wife got me into watching This is Us on NBC. It is some sentimental clap trap which draws on emotions around being adopted, being fat, being black, being gay, having cancer, being in love, losing babies etc. etc. Every week they layer on some new thing to get my wife and daughter crying over.

I like it.

:babyarm: I haven't watched it, but I can hear my girlfriend in the other room crying over that.

We finished binging Parenthood a few months back. Probably the same type of shit. I was annoyed most of the time with the characters. Still liked it ok, until the end, when they ran out of ideas.

We're a few episodes behind on This Is Us, but I like it.

I've watched the first 2 episodes of The Young Pope. Weird as hell, but compelling enough to hold my interest. It's the first show I've finally had to completely give in and turn on the closed captions because I can't understand what the hell anyone is saying.

I've gotten to where I can't stand the overly angsty dramatic shows.

I think I'm gonna binge that one next.

Anyone else watch Rectify? I'm about to start the last episode of the first season. It's solid.

We finally finished up Luke Cage this weekend. The whole season is pretty strong. Lots of cliffhangery stuff.

Honestly I'm not a fan of any of the villains, but they're all equally bad so all the suck blends together.

I should also add that the older I get the more ornery and impatient I get. Like in a scene where someone is misunderstanding a situation and all it takes it 5 seconds of explaining to clear everything up. Instead, the scene usually plays out like this:

JACKINSPLASH OWNS A FRUIT STAND. HE GETS INTO AN ARGUMENT WITH HIS TEENAGE DAUGHTER, WHO RUNS OUT INTO THE STREET IN FRONT OF A MOVING POLICE CAR. THE DRIVER, DETECTIVE SLATTERHORN, NARROWLY MISSES HER BY RUNNING UP ON THE CURB AND INTO HER FATHER'S FRUIT STAND. SERGEANT ROPEADOPE ARRIVES ON THE SCENE.

"Glad you're here, sarge! This reckless cop of yours just destroyed my fruit stand!"
"WTF! Look pal, I was trying to avoid hitting your-"
"DETECTIVE Slatterhorn, did you or did you not run your car into Jackinsplash's fruit stand?
"Well yeah, but -"
"I don't want to hear it, detective! Turn in your badge and gun, you're on probation!"
"But his daughter was-"
"NOT ANOTHER WORD, DETECTIVE!"

Every time I see something like that play out it drives me nuts, and that happens a few times in Luke Cage and the Daredevil series. But I'll keep watching.

Agreed, it worked a liiiiiiittle better in Luke Cage because it felt like the events of the season took place over only 2 weeks or something

I don't understand why Amazon can't just steal Netflix's UI.

About the only thing I watch on Amazon is movies I've purchased and they, miraculously, tend to work with very little headache. HBO Now is the worst. It doesn't matter what drawn out process I follow to exit out of the app, it always takes at least 2 tries and 5 minutes to restart it. And most of the time, the show or movie doesn't start up where I stopped it if I switch from one TV to the other or to my phone.

Make that really good. Bryan Cranston is awesome.

Also, Santa Clarita diet is a good dark comedy. It's on Netflix.

I checked out Santa Clarita Diet because I used to live in Santa Clarita and wanted to see if they filmed at any old stomping grounds. There were no landmarks of note so I'm suspicious they filmed it elsewhere. The show, fortunately, is solid and laugh-out-loud funny at times. Tim Olyphant is hilarious and Drew Barrymore doesn't talk out of the side of her mouth as much as usual. No tits are shown.

April is shaping up to be an excellent tv watching month. Silicon Valley, Better Call Saul, and Fargo all return.
