I know everyone was watching the Rangers tonight, but I hope you Tivo'd this show on AMC. It was pretty intense. Plenty of zombie-fu. Gonna be a good show as long as it doesn't get too soap opera-ish. And I thought the black guy gave a helluva performance.

They stayed pretty true to the spirit of the source material. It will be interesting to see if the TV series keeps the same traits of the comic book, which are: no one is safe from being killed off and the comic book gets dark, very dark.

I can pick those up at any Half Price for cheap. If I borrowed them from you it'd just expose how long it takes for me to read a book. Found out Blood Meridian is out of print, but they'll re-release it next year when the movie comes out.

And yes, WWZ is awesome. And everyone should carry a copy of the Zombie Survival Guide with them at all times because you never know when the dead are gonna rise, and your ass is gonna be unprepared.

I am sceptical of how well the upcoming love triangle storyline will turn out. In fact, I'm not looking forward to it.

Not to spoil too much, but it doesn't last long in the comics. Should be resolved by the end of this short run of episodes.

The Walking Dead - Motion Comic
This covers the first issue of the comic, which was followed pretty closely by the show.

And meh apologies to Fruitdog for forgetting to bring the first book to the game last Saturday.

Yeah, that's kind of an inconvenient truth about the show.

Yeah, that's kind of an inconvenient truth about the show.

You're really reaching the tipper of the iceberg with that joke.

Some serious ass-kicking zombie-fu tonight. Those charges of not enough gore were tested. A lot of red shirts got eated, but a couple of real characters too. Most tenses. Good stuff.

With the recent trend of Hollywood completely diluting every fact we know to be true about vampires, it's refreshing to see a grass roots "getting back to basics" zombie retort. The Walking Dead is a wake up call.

A boring episode turned awesome in the end. This show is greatness.

The stuff with the Vatos was kinda hokey. They're gangstas, but then they're not. And who ever heard of Mexicans in Atlanta anyway? Negroes, yes. Mexicans, no.

I kept thinking they were really stupid hanging out in the wide open hills and not posting any kind of watch. I'm not so much glad that it ending up biting them in the end but it's nice to see stupid behavior not glossed over. It makes the story better.

Aw c'mon, but they had all that fish for everyone. Can't they all just enjoy a nice evening together without worrying about a bunch of flesh-eaters crashing the party?

My bet is the dude that cut his hand off rounded up the zombies in the van he stole and drove them to the camp. What better way to get revenge for being abandoned and left for zombie food?

I've seen that theory, but I think Merle headed off in a different direction and is gonna end up being this super-evil villain dude from the comics.
