Everything Everywhere All at Once - It was good.

Point 1: There were no jokes involving using the Oscar as a butt-plug. Disappointing.

Point 2: That song and dance number from RRR was the best musical thing the Oscars have ever done.

Point 3: I know the answer, but what the fuck were they doing doing a live commercial for the new Little Mermaid in the middle of the show?

Point 4: As the resident Oscars expert, I would like to hear TitWhistle's opinion if this was the most dominating performance from a movie ever. I know numerous other movies have won more awards in a night, but for one movie to win 6 of the 7 biggest awards (Picture, director, actor, actress, supporting actor/actress, screenplay; they only missed best actor), that's a rout. It almost swept the "artistic" awards. Does this rank above the "Big Five" winners? Not necessarily in quality just in awards recognition.

As the big awards go, you could easily call it the most dominant ever. Only 2 other movies won 3 acting awards (Network and A Streetcar Named Desire) and neither won Best Picture or Best Director. Then there's the Big 5 winners, and of those three, 2 of them can probably be accused of category fraud. For Cuckoo's Nest and Silence of the Lambs, both Fletcher and Hopkins probably should have been in the supporting categories.

Winning any of these awards is a matter of luck and timing (and promotion and campaigning,) but in winning the Big 5 you also have to have the right setup with both a male and female above the title lead. EEAAO didn't have the male lead, but I think two supporting wins makes up for it. Plus they won Editing, which the other Big 5 didn't.

It's an exciting time.

Cap sent me a message asking if there are any Asians in this movie. Can you answer this question, Tit?

That's affirmative, bigboy. He'll also be happy to know there are Jews in the movie.

One of whom they just call "Big Nose."

And yet it still won all the Oscars.

Any boobies or a kid dipped in shit?

There has been a dearth of kid dipped in shit movies for awhile now. We came close with Triangle of Sadness, but they lacked the balls to go all the way. But on the bright side, it was 15 years between Schindler's List and Slumdog Millionaire, and it's now about 15 since Slumdog, so look for a kid dipped in shit at a theater near you sometime this year. Smart money would be in Guardians of the Galaxy 3.

Triangle of Sadness also had a donkey death. Two nominees with a donkey death has to be a 1st. I’ve been on a binge and I’ve seen all except Women Talking and Avatar now. I liked all 8. Elvis is definitely still last and probably not even close, but I liked it more than you did. Everything everywhere is 1st. The other 6 are all pretty close to me, even Top Gun, and I wouldn’t argue with any order.

EEAAO is fantastic. The Musers shit on it the next day. Said it won because woke Hollywood. They are movie dumbasses.

Top Gun Mavvy was a great theatre flick.

Not really going out on a limb here, but I loved Oppenheimer..

Past Lives was really good, but I felt the first two parts could have done more to set up the emotion in the 3rd part.

I don’t care, I liked Barbie. Best Picture? No. But it was fun.

7 to go.

1. Poor Things
2. Oppenheimer
3. Barbie
4. Killers of the Flower Moon

If I had a choice between Barbie and KotFM on TBS some Saturday, I'd probably sit through Barbie first.

1. Poor Things
2. Oppenheimer
3. Anatomy of a Fall - One of the better courtroom dramas you'll ever see. Apparently, they don't have an equivalent of the 5th Amendment in France.
4. The Holdovers
5. Barbie
6. Maestro - Standard biopic at first, but it gets really good in the second half.
7. Past Lives - With somey on this one. Needed more background for the emotional oomph at the end.
8. Killers of the Flower Moon

Not a bad one in the bunch so far. Killers is at the bottom because I just don't remember a lot about it. It's lesser Scorsese, but still good.
