3.5 is probably a good rating for it. From the previews, I thought Jamie Foxx was gonna be overacting again, but he was pretty damn good. It was also funnier than I expected.

Jesus is Magic - i am not really sure how i feel about this movie. parts of it were really good (the opening sequence and the final scene). there were also some really awful parts (the musical numbers and sara kissing herself in the mirror). she has a lot of good one liners, but most of her jokes fall by the wayside. the stand up bits make the film, the skits inbetween kill it (don't let bob odenkirk write for you).

    out of 5 for 40 minutes

:banghead: out of 5 for the other 30 minutes.

Call me a queer, but Neverland was a fantastic movie. Johnny Depp is a tremendously talented actor. Kate Winslet is getting more beautiful with age and those little kids were good too I guess. 8 out of 10 fairies.

I absolutely loved this movie. It's done like Traffic, with separate storylines wide apart at the beginning coming together in the end.

Whoo boy. Lots to digest here.
First, I liked that while the movie had good stuff to tell, like Traffic, there wasn't a strident tone to it.
George Clooney was great in this as a somewhat cynical CIA agent.
Matt Damon did fine as a yuppie-like Energy analyst/derivatives company type guy.
You're never quite sure at first who are the good guys and bad guys, and to be honest, there really aren't any in this thing.
One darkly funny (or ironic?) moment was a quip by Damon's character expounding on how great it would be to have a democracy in the Middle East, and tossed out a reference to Mossadegh of Iran. See Sidebar below for more info.
Chris Cooper , btw, plays one creepy motherfucker yet again.
So it boils down to this: Oil use is a vicious, ugly circle. Are we, as consumers of oil, completely aware of the results of our actions?
Eh, fuck all that. *stepping down off soapbox*

It's a great movie.

I give it 4 Hammer and sickles out of 5.

sidebar: Mossadegh was a democratically elected Prime Minister of Iran in the early 50's. He was a left leaning sort, and therefore decided to nationalize the oil company that the Brits built there. The British were perturbed by this, and set about to try to overthrow him. He got wind of this, and threw the Brits out. The English came to us to handle it for them, so we took him out and reinstalled the Shah of Iran as the ruler. The rest is history.

Agreededed with Walt. It IS a great movie once it all comes together in the end. The first 2/3 will leave you flummoxed cuz you'll have no idea what's going on, but it's all genius in the end. Not the good kinda genius though. This movie made me hate the whole world. Fuck a buncha oil types.

War of the Worlds - It was ok. But can someone tell me what happened to the aliens? I joked early on that they would get aids then near the end they all started dying and shit and made me wonder if they really did. Someone splain.

In HG Wells's novel, a virus killed them, essentially they were killed by the common cold. Of course in the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen Vol. 2 we find out that it was actually a hybrid strain of streptococcus and anthrax that was combined by doctor Alfons Moreau and delivered to the aliens by Mr. Hyde, who sacrificed himself to destroy them (and thus Hyde Park in London was named for him). It was essentially the first instance of biological warfare.

I saw Ice Harvest... I'm notsure what to think, though. It was pretty damn funny and all sorts of zany. Kinda felt like a cohen bros thing... I liked it, but it felt disjointed and stuff. Lotsa titties though and a nice shot of black trim. I give it an A-

Narnia blah blah blah -- Very underwhelming. The kids were annoying, everything looked like it was a set or made of plastic, very 'eh'.

Millions - Limey Brit kids find a million pounds a few days before they switch to the Euro. Now they gotta figure what to do about it. Tell everyone? Spend it? Some clever moments, and overall a pretty sweet story. Good for kids, provided said kids aren't dumb.

Because he was hoping the movie would fail with his opinion.

I think you are thinking of the Passion of the Christ. The last temptation of Christ made like 9 million.

I'll probably see Narnia, but I may wait for DVD. I didn't really like the books when I was younger and that thing with the deer legs and human upper body creeped me out in those TV movies they made in the '80s.
