I never said I wish failure on the movie. If others like it, that doesn't effect me at all. You're entitled to your opinion, however wrong it may be.

ANd I've really never gotten the alledged Christian parallels here. I keep getting told by the over-zealous that Aslan=Christ. And while I get the sacrificing one's life for the sins of others, that just makes him Christ-like. Christ would never be symbolized by a lion in my opinion. He was born in a manger to the poorest of the poor, from the simplest origins to the height of the world. The lion doesn't work at all, a big brutish beast that by shear muscle power can rule. But that's just me.

King Kong = 9.97/10.

-perhaps the best 'beastie' battle ever on screen
-great dinosaur chase scene
-great acting/directing
-superb adaptation
-the score was okay but not great...hence the .03 deduction.
-BETTER than Lord of the Rings (and not as nerdy gay)
-THE BEST CGI EVER
-it's like a better version of Indiana Jones, Jurasic Park, and love story rolled all into one.
-Jack Black= great
-Naomi Watts= hot/great
-Adrian Brody= ok
-Kong= funny/great

<<<DORK

The Untouchables - Finally saw this overrated movie. Kevin Costner is not believable as a bad ass and this role didn't work for him (even though I generally think he's ok). Did they have to play dramatic music for every scene? Not enough Deniro (Capone) and that little accountant guy, who was one of the "Untouchables", wouldn't have lasted 5 seconds. All that said, there was lots of guns and blood.
:click: :click: :click: out of 5.

Dead Man Walking - Oh man, the Liberalness was pouring in this movie, but if they wanted me to feel sorry for Sean Penn's character, they should have made him more apologetic for what he did. I thought Susan Sarandon overacted, but Sean Penn was great. I liked the ending.
3.8 out of 5.

A Perfect World - A story about an escaped con who takes a boy hostage and they become friends. It was funny at times, but the ending dragged on real hard. They could have made this one about 30 minutes shorter. And there were some holes that I didn't pick up an answer on. Maybe I just missed them. Pretty good movie though. 3.5 out of 5.

Favorite little moments from King Kong:

Jack Black telling Naomia Watts "I used to work vaudeville, too." Referencing Cradle Will Rock.

When they're filming on the ship with her and the lead actor guy, where she asks him what he thinks of women, that's a scene directly out of the original they're filming. The love interest was the first mate. There was no lead actor or screenwriter, so they used the corny 30's dialog in the movie-within-the-movie. Very clever.

Jack Black is trying to get another actress on very short notice. He runs down the list of Myrna Loy, Clara Bow, and Mae West, and finally asks "What about Wray?" To which he's told "No, she's filming a movie with RKO." He looks off with disgusted jealousy and mutters "Cooper!" I was the only dork in the theater giggling at that.

Open Water- Uhhh, was this movie made on a $10,000 budget? The actors were [wilonski voice]terrrrible[wv]. The story was not scary. The camera angles were trying too hard. This movie was disappointing. 2 :lamesharks: out of 5

The Village- Now that was a good movie. That sand N can make some movies. Totally did not expect the ending. Awesome. 3.5 to 4 out of 5 :camels:

You got 'em switched, Cap. Open Water was kinda creepy but The Village sucked ass. Anyway...

Mr. and Mrs. Smith - Lost interest in this movie about 30 seconds in. Way too smug, and I'm the king of goddamned smugness! Only good when Vince Vaughn was onscreen. And Angelina Jolie is still incredibly hot.

Has anyone seen this movie. It's kind of a creepy looking puppet movie that Peter Jackson did. It looks very indy and possibly genius. I heard Wilonsky talking about it today so I looked it up.

I have the DVD. It's like behind the scenes of the Muppet Show with lots of drugs and puppet sex. And it's funny if only for the big musical number "Sodomy".

Hell hath no fury like a hippo with a machine gun.

King Kong - Big fat eh. It wasn't awesome nor was it bad. First it was way too long. The love story was great and I felt bad for the Patrick Ewing character but I just walked away thinking it had some cool cgi stuff but cool cgi has already been done before. Naomi is a hot but her front two teeth bug me.

2.5 :biteme: out of 5 :biteme:
