It was NBC's "fairy tale ending" The show is moving to ABC for one more season because NBC didn't want to do the same ending that the writer/creator wanted. |

It must have been shown out of order from how they were filmed, though. It had Kelso still as the Chief of Medicine when he quit two episodes ago. What I read about it: They had some of these episodes finished prior to the strike and when they came back, NBC had them complete only the one they were in the middle of doing when the strike hit. They never let them finish the series at all, no season finale or series finale. ABC does produce the show and looks like they are willing to air another season of the show. But they had to money-whip Zach Braff to get him to do this season, will he come back for one more? Thye won't be able to throw the $350k an episode he's getting for this season at him. So it's still up in the air to me. |

Kelso didn't quit. He was forced out by the board because of his age. I thought maybe he got his job back but I just missed the episode where it happened due to weather coverage or something. |

He actually did quit. He was being forced out and Elliot and Carla rallied the staff to help him, and when the board dediced to let him stay he thanked them, saying he always wanted to leave on his own terms. Which was followed by telling the board to stick the job up their asses and quit. Cox became the temporary Cheif. This is off of Zach Braff's MySpace page today: Dear friends, Many of you have been understandably confused by the Fairy Tale episode of Scrubs serving as the series finale. It was not. I was not allowed to say it until today, but Scrubs will be moving to ABC for its final season. We are currently filming the 8th and final season. The true finale of the show will air on ABC in the fall. NBC merely promoted the Fairy Tale episode as the finale, as it was the last episode they owned. Also, several of you were very confused by the fact that Dr. Kelso and Laverne were still working at the hospital in the Fairy Tale episode. Because of the writer's strike, the last remaining episodes for NBC were aired out of order. This is why Dr. Kelso was still chief of medicine. That was not Laverne however, for those of you who have been following closely; it was a new nurse "Shirley" who no one thinks looks anything like Laverne except for JD. Hope this clears some things up. peace and love, zb |

The 1 hour episodes tend to drag a little and this one was no different. Michael telling Stanley "you're black!" and Andy singing Staying Alive were the highlights for me. |
