Brooklyn 99 is gud. I also like Black-ish and Cristela, so what do I know.

I've enjoyed the books but the show follows them pretty closely. A few changes here, a few omissions there. You're not missing much.

SPOILER:

Got through episode 35 last night. In the books, did Littlefinger poison Jon Arryn and did they keep it from the readers for this long? If this was a normal show like Homeland or SoA, I feel like the writers would have made that up on the fly to throw a twist at us, but since this is based on books, I'm probably wrong.

I had to look it up. It was revealed around the same point in the story. And he didn't do it himself. He convinced Lysa to do it.

The woman in red gets my pants moving the most because she is naughty. Daenerys is hot in real life, but she's a buzzkill on the show. All she does on the show is walk around in the desert freeing slaves and rejecting suitors. That Tyrell ex-queen for a few hours, soon to be queen again is a pants mover too. But the answer is Jaime Lannister.

Last night I realized why I'd rather binge watch shows and will probably binge watch season 5 as opposed to watching it live. We watched episode 36 and 37 and they were good. Episode 38 would have put shit past my bedtime, but because 36 and 37 were so short, and 38 was only 50 minutes after skipping the opening sequence, I gave it a run. Epidose 38 was the trial by combat between Oberyn and the Mountain. It ended the way it did (you know) and we were like holy fuck we have to know what happened to Tyrion (bedtime be damned), so we have to watch Episode 39 now. After all, the 9th episode of previous seasons were huge. And while episode 39 wound up being great (the Wall climax), Tyrion wasn't in the episode at all. If I was watching this live, I can't imagine waiting all week to find out what happens to Tyrion, only to have to wait another week. As it is, I couldn't do episode 40, so I have to wait a day.

You'll like episode 40. It was only disappointing to me because there was speculation about a certain character showing up but that character didn't show. Other than that, it was great.

It was good. It took 50 minutes of a 66 minute episode for Tyrion to show up, but that was a great payoff.

I wonder how the show will be from this point. Storywise, they're through 3 books and those were awesome, but books 4 and 5 aren't as interesting.

We need Fruitdog to chime in.

:babyarm: 4 and 5 were a little bit of a chore to read. Maybe they'll change things up on the show for the better but I doubt it. It will still be stop down TV but I don't see how it gets better than it is now.

Watched the first 3 episodes of Boardwalk Empire. Not as compelling as GoT, but it's really good too. HBO Go is buffering like a mf though. Probably took an extra 50 minutes to get through all 3.

Do we like Boardwalk Empire? I just got through Season 2 and it was fantastic, but I feel it's been under-talked-about in this thread. :crickets:

it's good.

Speaking of watching. I watch The Road, because i just finished the book, and there is a naked chalky/omar scene.

I have watched the whole series and enjoyed just about all of it. I wanted to punch Gretchen Mol's character quite a few times but the writers probably did that by design.

Mrs. I h and I watched the season premier of The Americans] last night. Keri Russell is a spinner  really liked it when she smacked John-Boy.

Death in the Season 4 finale of Boardwalk Empire Richard Harrow affected me more than any GoT death. Only Bodie's death has affected me like this.

Anyone have any thoughts on Treme? There's about a 2 month gap between House of Cards and Game of Thrones. Mad Men seems like too much of an undertaking.

Sling TV is awesome. $20 bucks and I get ESPN, ESPN2, AMC, TNT, TBS, Disney and about 15 other channels. I miss FSSW but I'm hopeful they'll add that as a $5 add on package in the near future.

Fuck a bunch of cable.

Interesting, I might start doing that instead of hulu.

As far as FSSW goes maybe try http://www.foxsports.com/foxsportsgo/ . It works like HBOGO so you need the username and password of a subscriber.

Well that would be pretty awesome if I had said username and password. Excuse me, I have some googling to do.

I traded my Netflix password to my brother for his cable sub password so I can watch FSSW. It also works for the ESPN web stuff.
