Hey Kids, Just wanted to let ya know I (like sagger a few months ago) have had it with our current host, OLM. They cost way too much and provide way too little. Hell, I can't even pay for the service online. I have to fax my cc# to them. I'm going to switch to powweb. Twice the bandwidth, four times the server space for 80% less than what I pay to OLM. Things to consider during the switch. - The old forum (with 15,000+ flat files) may take a while to be restored and function correctly - even though it's read-only. - Exporting and restoring the current forum's database may not be very smooth - Some recent posts (like posts the day of the move) may be lost - the site may be down for two or three days. But despite these potential problems, there won't be any more bi-annual pledge drives. We're talking only $93 a year for everything! That's less than 4 table dances for Walt. Of course, we could just shut the whole thing down in January. Vote and tell me yer thots. |

Why not just save the Classics section from the old forum and ditch the rest? If it isn't in the Classics at the this point, it ain't worth saving. |
