The Women's U.S. Open was today, and a woman won it: the lovely Paula Creamer. Watched an interview with her the other day and she was quite charming. My fave golfer, Natalie Gulbis finished 14th. I can't even watch her hit a shot if my wife is in the room. U.S. wo's golf has been overrun with Koreans, and they made their mark in this tourney, too. Na Yeon Choi finished second, and half of the top 10 were born in Korea. I'm always interested in how Kristina Kim does. She is an American golfer of Korean decent, and she dresses...differently. Think about Payne Stewart, make him an Asian female with large boobs. That's her. Well, she's lost weight now, so never mind that part. She finished 8th.

Here's an odd story: Big Ass Serena Williams cuts her foot in a restaurant somewhere and is in danger of missing the U.S. Open. I've never heard where this happened but I'm guessing it happened overseas. After the injury, she played Kim Clijsters in an exhibition match in Belgium. Here is a controversy that most people don't know about. Pat Summitt vs. Geno Auriemma. Geno coaches at Connecticut, who has won 7 women's basketball national titles in his time there. Summitt has won 8 titles. When Tennessee men's coach Bruce Pearl got into trouble for recruiting issues, Summitt made the comment that she'd be fired if she ever did something illegal. When quizzed about her comments, she said she wasn't talking about the men's game, she was talking about Connecticut. At the Breeder's Cup there was a disagreement between two riders, Calvin Borel and Javier Castellano. A scuffle ensued and an episode of fucking midget wrestling broke out. I think one horse got loose on a turn and spun out the other horse, thus pissing off Borel, who tried to give Castellano the pinata treatment. Hoob.

This is funny. Twice as many people tuned in to watch the Connecticut women lose as they did when they won their 89th in a row and broke the men's record. Story here More people watched this than several NBA games and the Armed Forces Bowel, er, Bowl. I enjoyed hearing Junior Miller complain about Sportscenter giving this story 10 minutes the other night. He's as right as rain on this one. It's obvious they are whoring this out to drum up interest in their own programming. I did not watch this game. My favorite Stanford blonde, Jayne Appel graduated last year and I lost interest. Heard this one on the Tee Box this morning. Golfers Natalie Gulbis and Dustin Johnson are now an item. She's now 28 and has won once on the LPGA tour. She's also been stretched out by Ben Rothlisberger. I think Dustin's Johnson is 26. Good for them.

ESPN had the Connecticut vs. Florida State wo's game on tonight. The significance was that it was coach Geno Auriemma's 89th consecutive win, breaking John Wooden's record. This event surprised me because the Huskies won their last title in 2004 and looked to be "down" for awhile. But they recruited Maya Moore and suddenly they were dominant again. Pat Summitt complained to the NCAA when she missed out on Maya Moore, that's how good that player is. I did not watch this game. It wasn't a close game. I don't like basketball that much. No hots were playing. No hots were coaching. The end. Hoob.

I don't know the ratings for the Beef O' Brady's Bowl, but it had to be higher than that. The New Orleans bowl got 2 million viewers and the other bowls got more than the NO Bowl did.

The stupid French are uncertain if they are going to continue to have the French Open at Roland Garros in Paris. According to the article they would like to have it in a larger facility to be competitive with the other three majors (Australian, Wimbledon, U.S. Open). They are actually taking bids from other venues. The tournament has been held at Roland Garros since 1928.

The wo's side of the Australian Open is done, and Kim Clijsters beat Li Na for the title. She's probably my fave on the women's circuit. Her career has been odd, having struggled early, took off to have a baby, then come back and mercilessly put a beatdown on all comers. Justine Henin re-injured her elbow and retired again, this time probably for good. And then there is the story of stupid Oracene Price, Serena and Venus' mother. That ugly dog tweeted that she wanted Li Na to win and made references to Clijsters being Madusah (sic) and would turn people into solid stone if you looked at "that eye."
