USA vs Brazil - women's indoor volleyball

Both teams have a girl with a different color jersey from the rest of the teammates. I've determined that this is either a) the captain, b) the shortest chick on the team and/or c) designated the worst player on the team. Both appear to be in there to "dig", but they both suck at it. They either miss it or just stand around and then they try to rally the troops after the suckage. Nobody appears to pay attention to them.

There's also a chick named Destiny Hooker on the USA team. She's good (and black).

Ah, yes. The libero. I attempted to explain this player to my mom on Saturday without much success. The US version (Davis, I think) was a liability.

That's her. She's terrible. She gets very proud of herself when she watches Brazil hit one OB.

NBC, Twitter are both full of it

In case you don't want to read the article, Twitter pulled an account of a guy who was critical of NBC's coverage. Their "reasoning" for it was lame.

Men's judo. Two guys were pushing each other around and apparently, nobody scored a point, so it went to the judges. They should do that in soccer.

The info for NBCS says "Sports, Basketball, Horse. Soccer; basketball; equestrian."

I am very confused by this description. Is Horse the basketball game? Or is it talking about equestrian? Even more confusing is they're showing beach volleyball right now.

Judo is back on. I don't really understand it. It's like wrestling standing up and it doesn't seem like the uniforms are conducive for fighting. My other choices are tennis, swimming or beach volleyball though, so judo it is.

Judo fighters cry a lot. The Canadian who won bronze and the Amurican who came in 4th are both in tears. It's touching.

Women's duo rowing. The analysts or over analyzing this. There are no "attack spots". You row faster, you win.

Maybe they meant they should hit the other team with their paddles. Or lob dynamite at them.

These archery chicks are badass.

Anyone watching badminton? I think I could contend.

I would love to watch some badminton. I wish they had one channel devoted to the smaller events. I have 4 options on my DTV package and it's volleyball, tennis and two soccer games. Between those, gymnastics and swimming, I'm about ready for the Olympics to end.

I'm watching the Brits take on the awesome peripheral vision people in badminton mixed doubles and the white dude is like "get out of my way bitch, I got this". He's a shuttlecock hog. What's funny is his name is Adcock.

US men's volleyball team dominating Germany. I've seen a lot of indoor volleyball in the last 4 days and the US teams have been dominant. Also, indoor volleyball > beach volleyball.

I'm not sure what the "spikers" official position is called, but it pisses me off when they try to lob it into the soft spot of the defense. Rarely works. Just hit the shit out of it. It usually bounces off the blocker's hands and goes OB.

Women's field hockey - seems like most of the skill takes place in the middle 80 % of the field. In the scoring areas, they just throw their sticks at it and hope it goes in. They went to commercial during the only goal of the first half. The penalty shots are pretty awesome though. Gonna have to figure out the rules to those. There has only been one.

France/Argentina in men's hoops. 10 NBA players starting. This should be good.

USA/Tunisia to follow. Should be a bubble bath.

Watching women's fencing. I remember playing this on my NES and I had to sword fight for a while before I scored a point. They just run at each other, one scores in about one second and they go back. Better than bike racing though. Or more tennis/soccer.

The sword fighting is getting better. They have helmets that light up when they get hit in the right spot. Otherwise, I don't know how you would score this. They also have instant replay.

More Olympic stupidity, this time in badminton. Because of how the rounds are set up, teams are intentionally losing matches. I presume the goal is to get an easier opponent later on. Anyway, several teams had their ass hung up on for doing that.

The men's basketball team is on its way to putting up all kinds of scoring records. Carmelo is draining everything in sight - 34 points, 9 of 11 from three. Still in the 3rd quarter.

Just hit his 10th - 37 points - and left the game. He's my least favorite player on the team, but not enough to root against them. I might if Wade or Odom made the team. Not sure if those two would offset Chandler, Love and Durant.

Spain is 10 times as good as Nigeria. I hope they have something else planned, other than tossing up 3s..
