Here is an odd story about Jeff Gordon's team planning on him donning the number 46 in his rookie year. However, Days of Thunder having Cole Trickle use that number changed that.

I started following Toni Stewart on Twitter a couple of weeks ago. Here is an interesting one that I got today:

Tony Stewart ‏@TonyStewart 40m40 minutes ago

teespring.com ripped off Jason Leffler after his death and many other drivers. I will not sign them period. #ripoff

He also Tweeted a photo of a shirt that reads, "This girl loves her Tony" and has a picture of two checkered flags on it. His message was,

Tony Stewart ‏@TonyStewart 47m47 minutes ago

If you are Truly a Tony Stewart fan, PLEASE don't order anything from these guys.

NASCAR required all drivers to be weighed before practice today. Toni Stewart didn't do that and got black flagged. So did a couple of others. He was heard saying the following:

"Go fucking ask them. Go ask those fucking rocket scientists why they fucking black flagged us."

And he tweeted this:

Tony Stewart @TonyStewart · 37m 37 minutes ago

Well NASCAR felt compelled to make me the first to be called to the trailer 10 min into the first practice of the year. #greatstart #NASCAR

And then crazy-ass nascarcasm, who I really like, Tweeted this, and Toni re-tweeted it:

nascarcasm @nascarcasm · 2h 2 hours ago

NASCAR had several of NASA's top rocket scientists making the drive north from Cape Canaveral to explain the black flag. #nascar #smoke

That's funny. They need to practice driving a car in a circle.

Toni Stewart owns Eldora Speedway, and the track has a website.

It appears that somebody hacked the website and put an ISIS message there. In the comments, there is all sorts of derp from people who wonder why they picked this website.

Hoob's answer: because it was vulnerable.

A piece of Texas motorsports history is closing this year. Texas World Speedway, near College Station, is getting bulldozed in June for a housing development.

This thing was put there in 1969 with the thought that people from DFW and Houston would attend races. It never happened, and the thing fell into disrepair and the major series left it. Benny Parsons once said that when you drove there, you were expected to dodge potholes.

It was sorta resurrected in the early 1990s and was used for mostly testing. But it was obvious it was never going to amount to anything, and the rise of Texas Motor Speedway was the final nail in the coffin.

A.J. Foyt, the great Tom Sneva, Al Unser, Johnny Rutherford, and Danny Ongais won open wheel races here. On the NASCAR side, Bobby Isaac, Richard Petty, Buddy Baker, Parsons, Cale Yarborough, and dumbass Waltrip won.

RIP TWS.

It seems some people still do not understand how big Texas is. Hell, I won't drive to Frisco to watch the Rough Riders. I damn sure ain't driving 4 hours to watch cars go around in a circle.

Yay, Bristol is this weekend. And I will be home to watch it. It has been awhile since somebody got pissed off at somebody else here. Maybe today.

Stay away from this race.

Jeff Gordon will be in the broadcast booth with Mike Joy and dumbass Waltrip next year.

When I saw the article, I got my hopes up that he'd take dumbass Waltrip's place, so he could be put out to pasture with his queerbait brother. But no.

As I have said before, Jeff Gordon wanted to race Indy cars and was setting the world on fire at the lower levels. However, he didn't have the money to buy a ride in Indy Lights, so he went to NASCAR.

Here is the story from his step-dad's perspective, which is told much more politely than I would tell it.

Carl Edwards wins a fuel mileage race, the World 600. June Bug used the same strategy but finished third. Carl got to do his signature backflip after the race.

Doesn't matter what he's driving, he'll still hit the fucking wall at TMS. Every. Damn. Time.

The only way that gets better is if he finishes the backflip in a squat, teabagging junior.

:babyarm:

It appears that the ratings for this year's World 600 fell below that of the Indy 500, and that hasn't happened in years.

Watched the end of the minor league race on Saturday. Bubba Wallace was winning, and he got taken out by his teammate, James Bueschler, who went on to win. I want Wallace to win and move on to the top level. Yes, he is black.

Commenters on Fark called the winner Doucheschler, and I agree with that.

Wallace didn't have a lot to say after the race except to say he just got ran over.

The dog days of the season is here, and it starts with Pocono, a track that is too big and the race often isn't that good.

Martin Truex, Jr. led the most laps and he won today.

Truex's last team was Michael Waltrip racing. Truex lost his ride there when the team cheated at Richmond a few years ago to help Martin make the Chase. The end result was, Truex got DQed from the Chase, NAPA Auto Parts dropped Waltrip as a sponsor, and Truex was out of a ride. And it wasn't his fault.

He drives for a single car team now. I am glad he won today.

Michigan (first race) is this weekend. I did some researchin' and found the following morbid facts:

The first person to die due to an accident here was Bobby Allison's son, Clifford, in 1992. He died in practice. That was 24 years after the track opened, which is pretty good.

Here is an oddity: Rick Baldwin died due to injuries in a 1986 crash during qualifying. But he lived in a coma for 11 years before kicking.

Several careers have been altered or ended here because of crashes.

Ernie Irvin wrecked in testing and was given a 10 percent chance to make it to the next day. And he raced again and won.

But nobody has died due to injuries suffered during an actual race, which is strange because they go really fast here.

Speaking of actual racing, you should stay away from this race.

Today I am seeing the happy story that June Bug is engaged to his long-time girlfriend, Amy. He is 40, she is 33.

While looking up her age, I saw that she was previously married to a coach and they split in 2008. My alcohol-soaked brain was trying to tell me something. Wasn't it a coach who claimed that Junior ruined his marriage?

Why yes. Yes it was.

The difference in me and June is, I haven't been caught yet.

In light of recent events, NASCAR has taken some steps to distance itself from the Confederate Flag. This week's race is on a road course in California, so I don't know if it would be seen there anyway.

I will say that even in places like Michigan, I have seen the stars and bars in the infield, I guess from fans who camp there. I wonder if they are going to ban them from bringing it in.

I am way more to the right than the rest of you guys, but this issue doesn't get me going at all. I just don't care and never have.

If the Chik-Fil-A ordeal taught us anything, it's that white, conservative, fundamentalist Christians love their hate and will rally by the thousands to show that to the world. Expect to see double the flags at the next race held in the South.

Tony Stewart is going to retire after the 2016 season. The sumbitch has won three titles, but his career is ending in the ditch. I hate it that it is ending this way.

I always enjoy his testiness. His cussing rant on TV after attacking Joey Logano a couple of years ago was awesome. And his rant over the radio from this year during a bad qualifying run.

NASCAR announced penalties for the confrontation between Xfinity Series drivers Brian Scott and Darrell "Bubba" Wallace Jr. at the end of the Sept. 26 race at Kentucky Speedway.

Brian Allen, the motorhome driver for Scott, has been indefinitely suspended by NASCAR for code of conduct violations, while Whitney Scott, the wife of Brian Scott, along with Wallace have have been placed on probation through the end of the year for infractions that occurred after the race.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Evidently there was a massive amount of cussing. During the fracas, Bubba called Scott's wife a cunt. On Twitter, Wallace said he was blindsided by three people: Scott, his wife, and the driver of the Winnebago. Scott said he deserved it for calling his woman the c-word. I am sure she did nothing to deserve this.

Anytime you have a black guy in NASCAR named Bubba, he can do no wrong in my eyes.

John Wes Townley is a driver languishing in the lower series of NASCAR. He has sponsorship because his dad owns Zaxby's Restaurants and sponsors his car.

John's nickname is John Wrecks Weekly, because he wrecks a lot, and often takes others with him. He has become a meme for fans of the truck series. It's not an official race until JWT makes it official with a spin or a crash.

Saturday at Las Vegas, he was decently competitive. More importantly, he had some gas left in the tank when others ran out, and he won the race. It shocked everyone in racing and made many of us smile.

nascarcasm ‏@nascarcasm 2h2 hours ago

You just woke up in a world where John Wes Townley is a #NASCAR race winner.
