For giggles, I went to the Penn State FB page. It is amazing to me that there are alumni there actually trying to defend Joe Pa's inaction.

The man can't hide behind the fact that he "reported" it. It happened on his watch, committed by his coach. Yet all that seems to have mattered is protecting the Penn State program.

Why he has not resigned already is telling.

Would it amaze you that there's a throng of students camping outside of his house in support of him? Unbelievable.

You sure they aren't Occupy Joe's House activists?

I can't believe they're allowing Paterno to stay until the end of the season. I wouldn't be surprised if he's out by next weekend. The media is going to be ruthless.

This weekend is their last home game and senior day. Sounds like they'll at least let him stay on for that. I don't see how they can move forward with him on the sidelines.

His assistant coaches are in a different box.

And by next weekend I mean the end of today.

I think they were tempted by the idea of letting him have one last victory lap this weekend.

Syracuse didn't have a Paterno, so they couldn't be bothered to follow up.

A lot of internet people are taking up for ESPN here but I don't get it. They claim they didn't have corroboration but they had solid tangible evidence with the recording. An audio expert could have verified the voice and editing 8 years ago.

:babyarm:

I noticed and thought the same thing. Why are people white knighting this fucked up broadcasting company? A bunch of people are doing it.
